Princess Elisabeth of Luxembourg married Franz, Duke of Hohenberg (1927–1977) in Luxembourg on 9 May 1956. He was a grandson of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria, whose assassination in 1914 sparked World War I.

Princess Elisabeth of Luxembourg was a daughter of Grand Duchess Charlotte and her husband, Prince Felix of Bourbon-Parma.
