The civil wedding was at Stockholm on May 25th 1961, the couple married religiously at Sigmaringen on May 30th 1960.

I am not sure if the bride's grand father attended the religious wedding, so Bertil would have been the appropriate man to give her away, as the princess' father wasn't alive anymore.

Princess Birgitta holds a very special place in my royal watching heart. Growing up she was the almost scandalous princess and much more intersting to follow than her two sisters (Christina was too young) that were much more proper in their behaviour. I always secretly hoped she and Tumba would get married.

The Royal Order of Sartorial Splendor: Wedding Wednesday: The Haga Princesses, Part 1

Don't think there is anything special about her dress. Nothing horrible but nothing interesting here. Not a fan of the veil as I think it's too much.

Thank you for this! I never noticed that the two sisters wore the same gown! I like its simplicity.
... warming up for Madde's wedding, I guess...

St. Johann in Sigmaringen was such a wonderful setting for the wedding Mass.
