I knew a lot of foreign royals would show up. I think most of us know of Prince Hassan's close ties and friendships with many royal houses.
I was glad that Princess Beneditke of Denmark was present which is good because no one from the JRF was at the wedding of Mary and Frederik and in return I didnt see any Danish royals at the wedding of Prince Hamzah.
I was hoping this didnt mean that the relationship between the two families had been permanantly damaged, esp. since King Hussein and Queen Noor seemed so friendly with the members of the Danish royal family on their state visit in 1998.

btw..I think Rania is wearing the outfit she wore earlier this month on her trip to Bahrain during a reception. I saw only one picture of the event and even then I could only see her back.

Does anyone think that's Princess Iman in this pic sitting behind Rania (on her left)?

I also wish I could see a better picture of Princess Ghida. She looks very pretty and seems to be wearing a lovely outfit.
Those of you who saw the wedding on tv, did you see Prince Ali and Princess Rym?

actually I think her caftan is appropriate for a wedding during the day. If she showed up wearing one of those bright pink and shimmery dresses she'd look completely out of place. All the women were wearing pastels and pale shades.

Thanks for the lovely pics, Humera. I was shocked to see Queen Noor, particularly because of recent rumours of her 'ouster', the whole thing with Hamza, and the historical bad blood between her and Princess S. I'm glad she was there and that she was accorded the appropriate dignity.

You're welcome.
Yes this wedding seems to have brought everyone together. I mentioned the Danish princess before. Same with Noor. She wasn't at Ali or Haya's weddings but she showed up at this one. I guess Hassan and Sarvath are not the type to hold a grudge. Good for them.

I think a lot of this has been overblown. QN has never been ousted from Jordan. Many of the reports of strife between QN and P. Sarvath had their origins in the 1999 succession change and the reports out of Jordan at that time. We now know many of those reports to be erroneous. I'm not trying to whitewash the situation, but I think both of these people are family-oriented and wise enough to know that it is important to rally around for the big occasions, to show some family solidarity, and to do their best to move on from the events of late 1998 and early 1999, which was probably a nightmarish time for all concerned.

I totally agree with you , I liked her Caftan , very simple and beautiful ...also for a wedding during the day , the make up and the colour of the caftan is very appropriate , not flashy , very discret :) nice choice from the princess

I like lists, so I have organized the guest list, plus added questions in brackets.

Quite the Dutch royal turnout -- what is the connection between the Dutch royals and Prince Hassan and Princess Sarvath and their daughter? (I am assuming that the Dutch royal connection is through them rather than through the groom or his family.)
The bride's dress was beautiful; she looks quite a lot like her mother, who was beautiful in her peach-coloured ensemble.
I cannot see what the other royal ladies are wearing, but is it just me or does Rania's outfit look out of place? It's a beautiful outfit, don't get me wrong (love the turquoise/blue skirt), but Noor, Lalla Salma and Sarvath seem to be wearing more traditional Middle Eastern attire;Benedikte, Miriam, the groom's mother, Sybilla, Aimee and Anita seem to be wearing suits or dresses with jackets, while Rania seems to be wearing something like casual evening attire. (Reminds me of what she wore to the Spanish royal wedding in lieu of a jacket and skirt or dress.)

I think its Prince Hassan who is friends with the Dutch royals. His family (Princess Sarvath, their daughters and son) was at all the Dutch royal weddings too.
Oh and Queen Beatrix also seems to have had a great relationship with the late King Hussein and Queen Noor. Its evident in all the pictures from various state visits over the years.

P. Hassan and P. Sarvath and their family are extremely close to the Dutch royals. The former visit the latter at least a couple times each year. . .it seems their relationship transcends official and is personal.

I agree. Both women look gorgeous. :)

Actually, Sarvath is wearing a sari. . .not Middle Eastern, but subcontinental. But I agree with you that QR's choice is an odd one.

TRH Prince Hassan and Princess Sarvath seem to be well liked by all of the European Royals. They are seen in Denmark, England, Holland, Luxembourg as well as the rest of Europe quite frequently. I think that that is a great testament to them as well as the European Royals who show their constant support and friendship to TRH's.

If Blair did not convert to Islam would that have meant no wedding?

It seems they share genuine friendships, ones that go back for decades. In the case of the British, for example, I have seen pictures of P. Sarvath's mother and a very young Sarvath with QEII, so there are connections on both sides of the family.

Princess Haya wasn't at the wedding either, along with Ali and Rym.
Does anyone, who saw the wedding on tv, know if they were in attendance?
I also would've expected to see some of the Spanish royals there since the family is very close to the JRF.

The wedding would have no meaning. A Muslim woman can only marry a Muslim man.

I thought that the Spanish royals were closer to Queen Noor rather than to Prince Hassan and Princess Sarvath? I know that they were invited to Felipe and Letizia's wedding, but I was always under the impression that the friendship was really between Juan Carlos and Sofia and Noor.
Even if there is a friendship I guess at this time there is a "premium" on the Spanish royal family's time: Cristina is on maternity leave from the handful of royal duties she would've performed; Letizia's schedule has been altered now and then due to her pregnancy and feeling tired from her gruelling schedule; the King and Queen and Felipe seem to be quite busy and I don't know where Elena is -- though I'm not sure that Elena would've gone to represent her parents or the family. I noticed that none of Sofia's children attended their cousin Pavlos' youngest son's baptism in Greece either. I guess if they couldn't find the time to attend that, this wedding would've been further down the priority list.

I do hope there are more pics, especially of the whole family.
