Prince Albert II of Monaco and Charlene Wittstock: Church Wedding - July 2, 2011

Albert looked like crap at his wedding. I am definitely not a fan of men getting married in white.

Yeah, not a fan of him in white, but at least he looked better than he did at Victoria and Daniel's wedding, IMO.

I didn't see a picture of him there. BTW does anyone have a good picture of Charlene's bouquet? I am doing a comparison and contrast between the brides, and I need a pic of Char's bouquet.

Embarrassingly poor taste. Maybe to send a message that "all is well." Here comes the bride in her off the
shoulder bathrobe Why is this necessary? Horrible PR choice. The only wife of a sovereign prince posing for photos like this is Charlene. No one in Lichtenstein or Luxembourg (two other small countries) would consent to their new princess doing this, or any other country that I can think of. Yes Monaco is all about the glamour and luxurious living. Not tacky living.

Wow. That's, ummmm, an unusual choice for a royal fiancee. Would have thought that the palace would have steered her away from something like this.

The problem is that the palace might have been the one who staged the entire thing ... They would have had absolute control over the production, media coverage, and public relations.

I agree, Charlene does not have years of PR experience like Grace Kelly did. IMO Charlene is taking bad advice. Must be difficult to know what to do when people you trust don't have the best suggestions.

I am not sure which board it was on, maybe GREMB, but there have been short clips showing the cutting of the cake and the first dance. This clip has some of it as well.
YouTube - ‪Discours de S.A.S. Le Prince Albert II au Dîner du Mariage‬‏

I found a couple of video reports showing first dance, cake cutting, fireworks etc. Don't forget that both can be enlarged by clicking on the square at the bottom of the screen on the right hand side. Enjoy!

Highlights of the dinner and ball!..I loved Tucci's singing 'Ti Amo':flowers:
It had a very mediterranean feel to it.

Thank you NGalitzine, angela, and burnt for these wonderful links! :flowers:

The last one in particular is my favorite, actually felt like one was right there amongst the spectacular fireworks, sitting amongst guests when the couple was serenaded, as well as presented with that fabulous cake, and finally when the princely couple took to the dance floor.

So good to see Caroline laughing with Grand Duke Henri, and Stephanie smiling beside The King of the Belgians. :) And also, once again (just like at Victoria & Daniel's pre-concert) Albert singing along with the band. Btw, you know when Albert truly enjoys something, he makes this little fist pump with both of his hands. :boxing: As well as his trademark winks & kisses here & there. :winkiss:

And when it came time for their first dance as husband & wife, what better place then on the water, which is what it appeared to be, with the opulence & splendor of the Opera Garnier all about them! :coach: Whilst in the background stood all the illustrious guests looking on fondly (Bea, Pierre's girlfriend, even shedding a few tears). Next came Mrs. Wittstock escorted by the dashing Chris Levine, as well as a host of other splendidly dressed guests. Truly, the stuff of dreams, which they can all look back on fondly in the years to come...

you do not need years of pr experience to know that this is tacky, looks like an advertisement for a cheap Spa and other things come to mind which are unmentionable.

I love the beadwork on this dress and the length of the train but I feel that the veil should have been much higher up and further forward.

Well, things are very different in Monaco... I remember tatooed Princess Stephanie in the late 80s sunbathing topless with tennis star Boris Becker.
Nothing against bathing topless - but for a princess...:whistling:

OMG Louis has a striking resemblance to Prince Albert in all those pics!!! :O

:previous: There's certainly a likeness between Louis and his uncle when Albert was that age. I noticed that myself.

He's a handsome young man and dare I say it, though no insult intended, better looking than his Casiraghi male cousins imo.

Stephanie was SOOO PROUD arriving in the religious wedding in her son's arm. I felt very touched.
Louis is a very handsome young man, and Pauline is stunnning, and perfectly groomed.

Stephanie's children are really her success!!

Chris Levine was The best Man in the civil and religious ceremony.

Is Chris Levine the brother of late Grace Levine, who was Caroline's bestwoman(????) at her wedding with Junot, on 1978!

Strong family bonds, after 33 years.

Lynette Wittstock was born in 1957, so she's a year old than her son-in-law

Thanks. She is still young. Same age than Pcs Caroline.

They really are!

And though only an impression from photo's, her children don't appear at all haughty. I may very well be wrong but they seem as though they would be pleasant and well mannered people.

Well, they are after all cousins. Chris and Grace are/were the children of Lizanne Kelly Levine. Grace's sister.

Have you noticed at the wedding, that the "Casiraghis" never smile when being photographed? Well, they´re no Royals, so this is not part of their "job discription", but this behaviour makes them seem very aloof and arrogant.

Will there be more official photos of couple?

ok, a lil' bit late, but i wanted to see all the videos and photos before i made my impression of the princely wedding. maybe you agree, maybe don't, but it's my opinion, and i have the right to say what i think.

first of all, in general, monaco did a great job promoting the wedding. lots of interviews and all that stuff made sure the wedding were well known internationally. specially when we see that the british wedding overshadow a&c's wedding a little bit.

all the wedding festivities before, during, and after the wedding deserves a 10. great job!

ok, here's when i start to criticize. just to be on the record, i don't like pa, and more now after all those rumours of other kids. hey, i'm not saying that those are true. but his image gets more poor after that. and i don't have nothing against charlene, i just don't like what the mrh has done to her. and she accepted everything. that's what i don't like about her.

about the guests, i will talk about them later at the guests' thread. but i will talk about the family of the newlyweds. caroline was awful(the civil wed outfit was quite fine), and her face said everything: she was there because "noblesse oblige". stephanie, IMO, looked better all the days. and more genuine. charlotte dress at the civil wed was terrible, and she looked pregnant. the religious ceremony outfits were great. but her posture and her attitude(she was like she was saying: "gosh, i'm very bored") damaged the whole look. andrea was terrible, pierre was better. tatiana was horrible, and beatrice was stunning...all that she wore were spectacular, from 1 to 10, she deserves a 20. stephanie's kids were fine, too. this is definetly her most success, no one can't deny that she's an excellent mother. a 10 to stephanie. and i liked her tears. she was genuine and emotive.

about the wittstocks, they were fine. i can't belive yet that "satellite dish" comment. cp mary, margarita vargas and other ladies had the same "dish". that's what we used to call "mala leche"("bad milk").

now it's charlene's turn. the civil gown was good. but without the blazer. too long IMO. here hair was wonderful, and the makeup was quite well(after all that colagen and botox), she looked beautiful. at night, her necklace was stunning, and she was gorgeous.

her wedding gown at the religious wed? it was one of the best that i've ever see. armani did a fantastic job. it reminds me victoria of sweden's wedding dress at the top. her hair(love that broach!!!) and makeup was exquisite. a very beautiful bride. she deserves, not 10, but 20 or 30.

albert was blach...

the wedding was beautiful. but i saw charlene so sad and she made me feel emptiness. she looked empty, her face didn't showed any emotions. and albert was like he was doing an economic transaction. and that kiss!!!! they barely touches their lips!!!!

when she deposit the bouquet(nice flowers!) she showed an emotion, and i liked it. IMO, charlene is in love with albert, but pa doesn't. "don't cry", he said, with a very angry face. it's her wedding, for god's sake. let her cry if she feel the need to show her emotions!!!! those tears gave the wedding a romantic and more genuine feeling. good for her for showing her emotions(or she was saying, "oh my gosh, what did i did?"...).

the gala was fine, and charlene's dress was cute. albert was blach again.

generally, the wedding deserves a 10. and i hope they could be a happy couple, not for pa, but for princess charlene. she deserves a fairy tale finale.

aren't any photos of the danish, dutch, and norwegians at tge brunch?

Does anyone have a link to a closeup?Who is in this photo? only heads of state or all royals?

I haven't seen this asked anywhere else but surely I'm not the only one wondering why Henri and MT are in the front with the family in the official photo? Surely there was room on the steps for them. Are they particularly close to Albert?

The wedding was well thought out and executed overall. I'm very impressed that this Princely wedding had more royalty in attendance than the British wedding. The Grimaldi's have come a long way from when Prince Rainier married Grace Kelly.

I haven't seen any vid's of the Wedding of Albert and Charlene yet, and I don't mean a 15 minute video by fashionTV on Youtube.
I mean the full wedding service from start to finish.
