A Muslim man can marry a Christian or Jewish woman. She doesnt have to convert. The kids have to be brought up Muslim though.
But as for a royal bride, I doubt a future queen of Jordan could've been Christian. That wouldnt have been too popular among Jordanians.
Even if a Christian woman marries into a Christian royal family, but she is of another denomination, she usually has to convert. Like Princess Mary of Denmark.

Arranged marriage doesn't necessarily mean forced marriage. From what I read, she was the one who was reluctant to marry a man much younger than herself.

On April 19, 1955, King Hussein married his distant cousin Dina Bint Abdul Hamid daughter of Al Sharif Abdul Hamid of Egypt.

The bride was six years older than the groom. At the time of the wedding the groom was 19 years and the bride was 25 years old. The bride was Cambridge educated and held a teaching position at the Cairo University.

The couple's initial meeting took place at the home of a royal Iraqi relation in London. This was followed by brief encounters in Maadi, when King Hussein would go for drives with his fiancé in a large American car.

The choice had fallen on Al Sharifa Dina Abdel Aziz Oaun, a distant cousin. Through her father Al Sharif Abdel Hamid, her lineage--like that of King Hussein--could be traced back to Prophet Mohammed--hence her birthright designation of Al Sharifa (the Honorable).
