The wedding was driven by Michael Mayne, Westminster dean. Prince Edward made a reading, and the couple exchanges their vows accordingly to the 1966 tradition. The groom gave the bride a golden wedding band by Royal Jewelers Wartski.
For official photo didn’t pose Tim Lawrence nor Princess Diana.
The wedding cake was made by Cathy and David Hamilton, the bride’s father cooks.

In the official pic, Anthony Armstrong-Jones, Earl of Snowdon (groom's father) is standing in front of Prince Edward, between Princess Margaret and Lady Sarah Armstrong-Jones (now Chatto).

Was the dress ment to look almost exactly like Princess Margarets did. Am I the only one who noticed it. Unless the dress Im imaging is not the dress that Margaret wore.

I believe (I have read) that it was deliberate on Serena's part to have the dress 'imitate' her MIL's, undoubtedly to show her respect.

Diana attended the wedding but didn't take part of the official wedding photos. If I recall correctly, the wedding took place at an unfortunate time for the her. I think Diana: Her story had been serialized in a newspaper and relations were a little tense.

I loved Serena's dress - I loved the way it was tribute to her mother-in-law too.
I haven't seen a lot of the photos in this thread until today - especially the official ones! Thanks for posting!

Thank you for all those who posted pictures of this lovely couple during their wedding. I'm glad that they're both still together.
I love Serena's fashion style and wish there is more coverage on the couple.
Best regards,
Ayvee

The really elderly man is Lord Harrington, and the woman behind him seems to be his current wife (either that or Serena's stepmother). The blond man next to him is the bride's brother, William. The next guy is the best man. Then the bride and groom. I think the elderly lady is Eileen, Serena's grandmother (her other grandmother died in 1992). The lady in blue-grey is Serena's mother, Virginia. The bridesmaid on the farthest right is Lady Frances, David's half-sister.

I didn't care for it either. The top part wasn't too bad, but the tulle skirt is really awful. And I thought she could have had a more relaxed hair do. She looked like Ivana Trump and almost as old, even then.

They usually have seated guests in pairs, so if Margaret sat, that would have been 3, an odd number. Besides, Margaret's health problems didn't start until 1998, and you can't sit if the Queen is standing unless for medical or age reasons due to protocol.

The tiara belonged to Margaret, who received it as a present from the Queen Mum.

Above it says that Lady Frances Armstrong-Jones was one of the bridesmaids. I don't know about the others or about the pages.
