What's her name? And why was she there? Did Danneels marry her or something?

It his younger sister Countess Isabelle Czarnocki-Lucheschi. Isabelle and her husband married in Brussels so he may have married them.

Thank you!
I was very curious because I found her presence there somewhat strange but now it kinda makes sense :flowers:

There was a very close Relationship.
He celebrated King Leopold III Funerals, King Baudouin and Queen Fabiola's Funerals. Prince Philippe and Princess Mathilde Wedding and the baptism of their four Children.

He also married Astrid & Lorenz, Laurent & Claire and Amedeo & Lili, didn't he?

I thought Prince Laurent and Claire were married by the Prince's friend, the French priest Pére Guy Gilbert, an alternative-looking priest with a leather motor jacket, whom worked/works in the edges of society (homeless, juveniles, etc.).

Prince Laurent and Pére Guy Gilbert:

The same priest did the baptisms of Laurent and Claire's children.

As far as i remebmber it Pater Guy Gilbert particpated in the Mass but was not the one who married them. Think he read the Semon or something like this.

She married at Stams Abbey near Innsbruck not in Brussels. But no Idea who married her.

L'Abbé Gilbert was co-celebrating Prince Laurent and Princess Claire's Wedding.
Cardinal Danneels celebrated.

I see, thanks. Gilbert was the one which stuck in my mind. A remarkable man and typically Laurent to make such an outspoken choice for this great man.

Sorry was just going off the information from Person peerage page that the couple married in Brussels. Only information I found on their wedding.

King Philippe looks so proud of his little girl who is so grown up. I love her red jersey, jeans, and trainers, they are just what all the kids are wearing and perfect for that particular event.

Lovely surprise to see Elisabeth there too! I presume Atlantic College, unlike most of the UK (or at least here in South East England), hasn't returned back from the Easter break yet (or Elisabeth has been allowed extra time for this visit). Elisabeth is gorgeous and is starting to resemble Mathilde more IMO - she still looks the most like Philippe but is starting to look like Mathilde a little around the eyes and in her mannerisms.

Isn't the school in Wales? Welsh schools were off last week and this week for Easter break

How beautiful and likeable she has become !!! Very proud to know she will be our Queen one day…...

Elisabeth is such a pretty girl...golden honey hair, tall and slender with the most stunning figure. She seems to be a princess straight out of a story book.?

In Wales the schools have a break from 15-26 for Easter (was wondering the same so I looked).

Lovely to see her and her dad out at the event. Dad sure looks proud :flowers:

She looks great. Very much a teenager but still appropriate for the event in her jeans and trainers. I love her red top.

Queen Mathilde with (surprise!) Princess Elisabeth pictured in Nairobi on the morning of the first day of their visit to Kenya, today 25 June . What a lovely surprise indeed.

The Belgians IMO have found the right balance between not exposing the children too much to public duties while still involving them at times. This is obviously a great cause to take the princess to. I suppose that the summer holiday will have started at her boarding school.

According to Het Laatste Nieuws Queen Mathilde has often said on other humanitarian missions that she will take ' study material' home from such places to educate her own children and make them aware of the difficult situation in which others are living. As a student Mathilde volunteered for an NGO in Egypt. Last year in Laos she said that her social engagement started at a young age and she hopes that her children will follow herin that respect.

It seems beyond question that Queen Mathilde's social engagement is motivated from the heart, not undertaken for mere expectation or recognition.

Well, you cannot say that Philippe and Mathilde are not preparing their heir. When Elisabeth is not at her studies she is accompanying her parents on some mission at home or abroad

And always with a sweet smile. And she is growing more lovely, poised and elegant each time.

Lucky Belgium!;)

I am surprised to see Princess Elisabeth with her mother in Kenya. Is she done with her school exams in Wales ?

From what I can gather her school year finished on June 13th.

So lovely to see Elisabeth with Mathilde! I agree that she's one of the better examples of how to ease a young heir to the throne into their position. Elisabeth has had an almost equal opportunity of a sheltered childhood and experience with royal engagements and her future responsibilities. Some of the young heirs either have too much or too little exposure to the public and their future roles, which isn't healthy either way IMO, but Elisabeth's upbringing seems to be a perfect in-between. She seems to be very confident and rather natural in her role, though I'm sure that studying at the Atlantic College has also helped her confidence grow.
