Gabriel needs to pay a visit to Felipe so we can all stop exclaiming over his size. Or should I say, "put things in proper perspective".

I would expect him to take up military service (his father, aunt and uncle did as well; and his sister is doing initial military training) but if that will be his full-time long-term job is a different question.

As far as it is understood he won't be a working royal. What a better chance to serve your country than the military service.

I don't think it has been ruled out that he will be a part-time working royal, but he is indeed expected to earn his own living since the reform of the dotation system at the start of the present reign.

Indeed, nice of them to take their grand daughters along. Modern art is not for everybody -especially at that young age- but Queen Paola seems to want to share her enthusiasm for it with her grandchildren. The exhibition is held in the modern art museum of the town of Hornu, in Hainaut.

Thank you for the photos. It is good to see the grandparents and granddaughters together. It appears that Elenore has had a growth spurt recently. She's nearly as tall as her sister.

Great idea. But the princesses didn't seem to enjoy the visit that much. Elisabeth looks rather tired (or bored?) on the final picture (at the table) - where we can see her full face. Normally she shines and neither of the sisters was shining during this visit.

A wonderful surprise as we haven’t seen her that often during the last months:
Princess Claire presented the awards for the Terre d'avenir/Focus Aarde science awards in Brussels today, October 6. The awards are an initiative of the Queen Paola foundation organized in collaboration with the Dirk Frimout foundation, therefore Queen Paola and King Albert were present as well:

Great to see Claire back in business, even for a short while. Great of her in laws to involve her!

The mass for deceased members of the royal family at Notre Dame de Laeken will go on this year and will be held next week, on thursday 17 february. The mass will be attended by a large gathering of the family. Wim Dehandschutter says that the following will be present:
- The King and Queen
- King Albert II and Queen Paola
- Princess Astrid and Prince Lorenz
- Prince Laurent and Princess Claire
- Princess Delphine and Jim
- Princess Léa
- Princess Esmeralda
A coinsidence perhaps, or a show of unity? To me it seems that the family is eager to show that they have moved on, which is perhaps also the reason for Paola's interview and the cooperation of the family. The interview will be aired a day later, on friday the 18th.

Wonderful!
Really good to see Prince Laurent and Princess Claire listed.
Princess Léa and Princess Marie-Esmeralda,Lady Moncada are nearly always present and don't let the side down at the Family Mass.

I like that the royal women are kinda showing Delphine the ropes, Astrid was seen talking to her before the National Day parade and Claire was helping her along in the church here.

I think Philippe has basically set everything out as "paterfamilias"? Like the family (and the royal house) seems to be running much smoothly since he took charge.
Zero drama, zero complications, he and Mathilde are the kind of people who don't like things to be weird or uncomfortable for anyone.
