It has been 13 years today, that the (IMO) greatest king of the 20th centrury died in Spain. I hope Queen Fabiola will have some relatives with her today, to support her. It must be difficult for her.
Will there be a memorial service today?

Why did the King die in Spain? Was it unexpected on a holiday or was he living there full time?

Poor Fabiola. She misses him so much.

The King and Queen were on holidays, in Mortil (?). The couple owned a villa there, near the sea. I still remember the moving pictures of Queen Fabiola and the spanish kings on the airport, when the Kings coffin was layed in the airplane. The King died of a heart attack, I believe, so quite unexpected. I remember being rather shocked about it myself.

Thanks purple, and again in white, as during the funeral. Who is the lady in white? A lady in waiting or a spanish niece maybe? Were any Belgian or Luxembourg relatives present?
I assume the service was in SS Michiels and Gudele Cathedral?

That's right. It's Motril, where they had a holiday home, villa Astrida.
