The bodylanguage is perhaps telling. The princess could not have turned her back more towards her brother. It is of course easy to read too much into a picture.

Have there been any reports or hints of potential grounds for conflict between the members of the Royal Family recently?

During her father’s reign Astrid was treated like a crown princess. She still seems to have problems to cope with her new, less relevant and privileged position. She also has health problems and has complained about her workload. Perhaps she could consider some sort of retirement.
Claire stays at home because she wants her own dotation. This is delusional imo. Good luck finding just one single member of government or parliament who will support this idea. And her husband runs around with a sour face for many years now.

Nice to see Emmanuel there. Philippe and Mathilde always seem to make sure either one of their children experiences the competition each year which is lovely.

Interesting; I had no idea Princess Margaretha was so close to Queen Fabiola so it's lovely to see her at the competition.

Queen Fabiola was her aunt in law and was always a regular at the competition seated beside the queen,I've always suspected she was a favourite royal niece!

I read somewhere that Fabiola supported a lot Margaretha when she lost her first child, since Fabiola had several miscarriages.

Yes, Fabiola took Margretha to her and Baudouin's holiday Villa Astrida in Spain and personally nursed her back to health after the death of Margretha's newborn son Leopold in 1985.

The two women were very close.

Yes Margaretha and bher husband lived in Brussels at that time. And her son who died the day of his birth is buried in a Side Chapel of the Royal Crypt in Laeken.

And Duchess Amelie is a vilionist so that is probably also a reason they attended.
