The VRT is at Stuyvenberg and see little activity, they have little information. A few people are bringing flowers. According to VTM, King Philippe is at Stuyvenberg now.

I remember her marriage being a major event featured in magazines etc. in my childhood.

This is the worst news I received this year. I just can't stop crying.
May Her Majesty rest in peace. She's with the Lord now, and finally reunited with her King Baudouin.

It is a very sad news this evening, she was and still stayed one of my prefered queen, She is now near her husband she loved so much
I remembered when I watched her weeding at the TV with the king Baudoin. , I was 12, since this moment, I have read all about her and her husband.
God bless her and may she rest in peace.

I am very sad to hear this news - what a wonderful, beautiful queen she was and I think she will be missed very much by her family. She was of that certain generation of royals whom I first read about many years ago when I started my interest in royalty. May she rest peacefully with King Baudouin.

She was in bad health these years, suffering from osteoporosis and never fully recovering from a lung infection.

I am surprised that VRT (the Dutch speaking public channel) just goes on with the regular program. No Breaking News, no special program. In Spain "just" for the Duchess of Alba, TVE could not stop reporting about the life and death of Doña Cayetana FitzJames Stuart y Silva...
I am also used to Dutch television and on such moments, all channels, both public and commercial, immediately change programs (Prince Claus, Queen Juliana, Prince Bernhard). Even for a junior Prince as Friso, there was more attention on TV than now on VRT for Queen Fabiola, how is this possible?
I can't believe it. I am zapping Belgian TV and I just see Inspector George Gently and Million Dollar Baby....
