Belgian Nobility

According to wikipedia Guy became a baron in 1969. It was a title that could be inherited by primogeniture. In 2013 the title was extended to all his descendants. CA Ullens became a count in 1962, upon his marriage indeed.

The Belgian press is speculating that the stepson killed the baroness due to money that went missing. Guy Ullens de Schooten's fortune was estimated at 2 billion EUR.

The real friends of King Baudouin and Queen Fabiola, King Albert II and Queen Paola, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde are unknown . It is their personal and private lifes.

The media reports that the son blames his stepmother Myriam for serious mismanagement of the family's fortune after his father's stroke.

It seems in his eyes Myriam was playing the much-celebrated Charity Empress with só much money that the family fortune was notably shrinking fast. This to the consternation of the four children. (Their father was Myriam's third husband.)

As so often the relationship with the stepmother detoriated du moment she had access to the family fortune. But that it came to a murder in cold blood, nobody expected that.

I am waiting the Justice will find out a lot of unknown facts and don't trust the first Media Reports.

Brigitte Guyot de Mishaegen, sister of baron Nicolas, says that the family supports her brother. She spoke to newspaper Het Nieuwsblad and she says that her stepmother terrorised the family. She wanted everything for herself. She made it impossible for the children to see their father. Funds were supposedly diverted to Mimi's children from an earlier marriage. The sister explains : 'my brother exploded' and adds that her brother is a kind man who never would have commeted such an act premeditated. 'Mimi has destroyed out family' she added.

I can imagine my own fury when I would find out that my father's second wife or my mother's second husband is diverting away significant family capital to children from their earlier marriages...

But of course: murdering your stepmother, come ooooonnnn..... it helps nothing at all (except maybe stopping the family fortune leaking away).

Does anyone know if Madeline Bernadotte knew Myriam, it looks like there was about 20 years between Madeline's divorcing Charles and Myriam marrying his brother Guy.
Also does Madeline attend any royal events in Belgium?

Her Father and his third wife atted King Baudouin's Funerals.
she came in Belgium for her Children's Weddings

It became legal in 2014 for parents to assign their children the surname of either or both parents, but for whatever reason, it took until 2022 for the Nobility and Knighthood Administration to publish regulations on the transmission of nobility to children who bear a maternal or double surname.

See FAQ 5.4.

- If the surname of the father is chosen, his nobility and title are transmitted to the child (if the dispositions in the letters patent are complied with).

- If a double surname with the surname of the father followed by the surname of the mother is chosen, the father's nobility is transmitted to the child, and possibly also his title (if the stipulations of the open letters are complied with).

- If a double surname with the surname of the mother followed by the surname of the father, or only the surname of the mother, is chosen, then neither the father nor the mother may transmit their nobility or title to the child.
