In the presence of Princess Tessy, at the Casino 2000 in Mondorf-les-Bains, a charity gala took place in favor of the team from Luxembourg. The team takes part in the "World Summer Games 2015" for mentally handicapped athletes in Los Angeles.

Princess Tessy of Luxembourg made a personal visit to UNAIDS headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, on 14 and 15 September to learn more about the AIDS epidemic as well as the work of UNAIDS.
During the visit, Princess Tessy discussed with UNAIDS Executive Director Michel Sidibé and UNAIDS experts the challenges facing the AIDS response today and explored areas where she could make a difference, particularly in support of women and girls.

Tessy has pleasantly surprised everyone. She has evolved into a refined, poised and gentil princess. At the beginning, people thought that she was some kind of gold digger, but she has proven everyone wrong. By the way, her English is very good and I love the way that she speaks and projects herself.

In August, HRH Princess Tessy of Luxembourg spent two weeks at the Luxembourg Institute of Health (LIH) for a training period related to her Master’s studies. A tour through all three departments gave her the opportunity to get an overview on LIH’s research activities and their relevance for scientific progress and healthcare. In an interview with the Communication Unit, Tessy of Luxembourg tells about her impressions.
‘I am currently doing a Master’s in International Studies and Diplomacy at the School of Oriental and African Studies of the University of London. I aim to write my Master’s thesis on the subject of bioterrorism, meaning the use of toxins or infectious agents as weapons. I aimed to acquire a more profound knowledge on infectious agents and diseases as well as on the human immune response. At the LIH, many research activities focus on unravelling disease mechanisms, understanding drug resistance and developing new treatment options. I thought it was the perfect place to gather all necessary information in a direct exchange with researchers and technical staff. So, this was the reason why I applied for a short training period.’

I like how Tessy comes across. She is very likeable. I also like the way she "took advantage" (and I mean that in the best way possible) of her new position of privilege, getting a Masters at SOAS and writing her thesis on bioterrorism. Who's to say she wouldn't have done that on a scholarship regardless of having met Louis but in her position, I'd totally do the same thing--get into the best possible university and contribute to society with your knowledge and connections. I think that trajectory is great when so many young ladies in her position would probably rather go into honorary heads of charities and not know much about them, or dabble in fashion. So kudos to this young lady.
