Scandinavian Royals: Madeleine's future in-law's

Eva Maria O'Neill, née Walter was born in 1940 in Austria. She was married and divorced four times. From her first marriage to Walter Schoeller, who worked as Indonesian consul in Munich, she has daughter Tatjana Schoeller. Tatjana is married to Henry d'Abo son of Robert d'Abo and Lady Ursula Manners, together they have three children Anoushka Maria Violet (*1991), Celina Maria Isabel (*1996) & Jasper Henry Erland (*2001).

Daughter Natascha Loeb comes from her second marriage to Hermann Loeb. Natascha is married to Graf Enst von Abensperg und Traun and together they have one daughter Milana Maria Tatjana (*1996).

Her third marriage was to Christopher's father, Paul Cesario O'Neill. Her last known marriage was to James Elliot Steward.

Paul Cesario O'Neill was born in 1926, as son of Paul O'Neill & Josephine Cesario, he passed away in 2004. Before his marriage to Eva Walter, he was married to Hildegard O'Neill with whom he had three daughters Annalisa, Stephanie (Stefanie according to her mother's orbituary) and Karen. In total there are 5 half-sisters? Two from his mother and three from his father?

Okay' so there is some nobility in his family! Awesome! I like! Fun!

That "some nobility" seems to come not from descent but from his half sisters marriages rather like he is soon to be a part of.

NGalitzine is right. Chris's family is socially about as well connected as they come, and his mother has moved in the "right" circles for decades.

But they do not come from the nobility themselves.

True - and it isnt important that they don't.

I think not taking a title is a good thing - and they will end up living in the US - as a v rich, up-market couple

Agreed here.

It was very respectful of him to step back and say that he preferred his own life and chose not to have a title. Good guy.

Even though Chris' propensity to NOT smile in pics (and he looks TOTALLY transformed when he does!) irks me, I HAVE to give the man credit for choosing his own path and refusing a title.

I respect him for that.

He doesn't seem to care for being in the limelight at all (saw a recent pic where he was actually flipping a bird at a photog! Didn't think much of THAT little action!), and since Maddie is so far down in the pecking order of possibly ever having to rule Sweden, I really don't see any logical reason why he SHOULDN'T choose to keep his life as he knows it as much intact as possible.

Daniel's situation was ABSOLUTELY different, though, because of Victoria's positioning in the succession. And sure, he had his naysayers. However, he seems to be proving any and all of them wrong on a daily basis, and good for him. His path was to become a royal and get with the program, and he has trod it well.

Now let's see how well Chris does on HIS path!

According to Svensk Damtidning, Natascha and Ernst von Abensperg und Traun have three children (many websites are writing only of one). Milana is 17-years old and in addition to Milana they have a daughter and son, who are younger. They live at a castle in Maissau, six different wines are produced at their estate. Ernst is at the finance business and has a good job at Valartis Bank.

According to Svensk Damtidning, actress Maryam D'Abo is the cousin of Henry D'Abo, the husband of Chris' sister Tatjana.

Obviously Natascha and Ernst von Abensperg und Traun have four children, since at the guest list were:
Countess Milana Abensperg und Traun
Count Moritz Abensperg und Traun
Countess Chiara Abensperg und Traun
Count Louis Cajetan Abensperg und Traun

Chiara and Louis were bridal children.

Is Chris more connected to his maternal half-sisters? At the lysning only his maternal half-sisters attended!

Only Tatjana D'Abo attended at the lysning (banns) day at the reception. She didn't attend at the church service.
All Chris half-sisters attended at the wedding, here are his three paternal half-sisters at the official photo, behind Chris and Eva O'Neill.

Annalisa O'Neill told to Expressen before the wedding, that she hadn't meet Madeleine before the wedding celebrations at all.

Is Chris more connected to his maternal half-sisters? At the lysning only his maternal half-sisters attended!

As I understand, he grew up in London with his maternal half-sisters whereas his paternal half-sisters presumably lived with their mother in the US.

Regarding the lysning, Tatjana d'Abo lives in the UK, so it's not impractical to travel to Stockholm for a day or to just stay overnight.

Eva O'Neill is 73 years old, sometimes I hope that she would think about her age while choosing her outfits.

Well, she looks good.

Svensk Damtidning had sent reporter Liv Sander to Salzburg to report about Eva O'Neill at the Amadeus Weekend.

Malicious rumours about the mother-in-law of princess Madeleine: Running out of money
This year's event had a sad feeling, since the patron behind the Amadeus Weekend, Eva's very good friend Donald Kahn died on 10th August.
Kunstmäzen Donald Kahn in Salzburg gestorben | STERN.DE

Damtidning writes that it is said that this Amadeus Weekend was the last one. It would be a huge loss to Eva, the weekend is the highlight of the year at her calendar. Someone who knows Eva said that Amadeus Weekend isn't anymore like it was when prince Charles visited it. The festival has become smaller and smaller, and this year there were hardly any celebrities. It is also said that the death of Kahn will affect on Eva's private economy, she sells tickets to the Weekend with a high price and lives with the profits.
But in front of the cameras Eva smiled widely. She loves attention, and makes entry always at the last minute. Both her daughters were there with their families. Only Chris and Madeleine didn't attend, they had already returned to New York.
