Margareta Thorgren, the director of the press department of the swedish royal court said in the end of March
To Aftonbladet
- It is not planned that anyone in the royal family will be there officially. As far as politics is concerned, we can not comment because the royal family is non-political.
To SVT
Nor the royal house will have any official representative in Russia.
- There are no plans for it, says Margaretha Thorgren, adding that it does not have to do with the neurotoxin attack.
- No, that's no such thing.
However, she says that it is possible that someone of the royals goes to Russia privately, because of their sport interests.

From Japan:

Confirmed: Princess Hisako will visit Russia June 18-26 for the World Cup. She'll attend Japan's matches against Colombia and Senegal in the group preliminaries and visit the national team's base camps. She'll also attend a Japan-Russia Kyudo event.

There are no plans for Princess Hisako to meet key Russian figures as she is traveling in her capacity as honorary president of the Japan Football Association and honorary chairman of the International Kyudo Federation.

Japan's base camps are in Kazan, Republic of Tatarstan. [FIFA pdf]

As posted in the Saudi Arabia subforum

Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman will visit Russia for next week’s opening of the World Cup soccer tournament, Russian news agencies report.

Interfax on June 8 quoted Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov as indicating the powerful crown prince will likely meet with President Vladimir Putin during his stay. "We're expecting [his visit]," Peskov told Interfax.

Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman is said to stay at Ritz-Carlton Moscow on the 11th floor and will have FSO (Federal Protective Service) protection.

Of course, the British government and the British Royal Family are also boycotting the World Cup because of the neurotoxin attack, so no British royals will attend any of England's or Australia's matches.

According to Interfax, Grand Duke Georgi Mikhailovich attended the opening ceremony and match Russia-Saudi Arabia on 14 June.

It is great to see Princess Takamado attending the match. This is the first visit of a member of Imperial family since 1916.

:previous: First? wow I am really surprised. Anyway it's always nice to see Princess Takamado, love her smile.

I know that the British government (and, by extension, the RF) are boycotting the World Cup due to diplomatic tensions with Russia, but in the (very unlikely) event that England makes to the semifinal, will Prince William or some other senior royal go to Russia ? I think it is unfair not to support the team for political reasons.

Prince Michael of Kent or Prince Andrew would be a much better choice than Prince Charles' sons.

Hopefully there will be Germany vs Brazil in the final. At this point in time Germany is more important for Russia than UK.

Special circumstances can call for special representatives. Prince Michael of Kent is well-received in Russian upper circles. Prince Andrew can be tolerated.

Japan has just beaten Colombia 2-1 ! Princess Takamado must be very pleased, especially consideriing that Colombia was the pre-match favorite and Japan has not been playing well lately.

She must be very proud! It's Japan's first win against South American team in the World Cup, and they also become the first Asian nations to beat a South American nation in World Cup.

Aren't the Belgian King and Queen due shortly?

According to Russian media, King Philippe and Foreign Minister Didier Reynders are said to visit Russia on 23rd June.

Now that the agency has updated their stock with photos of King Philippe and the Palace has shared some photos as well, I have the same impression.
