On Saturday, GD Henri attended a 3+ hour meeting of the IOC commission "Olympic Solidarity". There was something about distributing $400 million from a pot of TV money over 4 years: "We help about 100 National Olympic Committees and individual athletes We are also trying to athletes after their careers at. transition to the 'normal life' to help. this is also in Luxembourg a big problem. I think that the athletes have served the country as an ambassador. We have to help them."

His car is accompanied by 6 motorcycles and he admitted the security measures have never been as great as in Rio. In the evening, GD Henri watched a handball match between Qatar and Croatia and handled out medals in swimming (400m Individual Medley). On Sunday, he presented medals in women's racing.

GD Henri's Rio trip lasts until Thursday and he "goes via Frankfurt to Nice and then ten days holiday in the family residence in Carcassonne."

I don't understand why you are laughing!

Albert was present to the gymnastics men trial because he supported the monegash gymnast .

It was the teamfinals in gymnastics last night, Monaco didn't compete (nor France unfortunately)

The IOC members are visiting lots of events, and ofcourse they should, but i think it's "business" for them and not necessarily because they want to follow the entire event or because they want to support their own gymnasts (ofcourse they will cheer them on if they are there)

My remark "busy night" was more because i had been flipping tv-channels between diving and gymnastics back and forth (both were on at the same time) and thought it was fun that everytime i flipped: there was P.Albert (guess you had to be with me on the couch to find it funny, but hey, olympics is exhausting for the avid couch-potato too )

Both these events must have taken place during the course of Monday, because during the evening he was present at the swimming finals. As you mention correctly P Albert presented the medals to the winners in the Mens 100m backstroke. Pity we don't have pictures...

P Albert on The Olympics. Since it's all in French maybe our French posters can summarize for us?

Kongehuset gallery of Crown Prince Frederik watching the handball match between Denmark-Argentina:

OL: Overværelse af håndbold | Kongehuset

As you may know, Mary left Rio late Saturday so she could reach home to the children and their first day of school and kindergarten (which was yesterday) after the family's 6 weeks summer vacation. Tomorrow, Mary also starts again with official duties after the family's summer holiday. Frederik will - as Denmark's IOC member - of course stay the rest of the Olympics.

It has been wonderful to see Frederik and Mary together for the Olympics. And their frequent visits to all the Danish athletes. With prince Joachim also having left home, our Frederik must now represent Denmark during the rest of the Olympics. I'm sure he will do it great!

I agree Roskilde it was wonderful to see. Along with official duties on behalf of Denmark, the DRF has been a great support for their athletes.

Those are some nice pictures of Joachim and family. Nikolai seems very sweet with his brothers and sister.

Before leaving Rio, Mary visited the Danish equestrian team. they compete today and the DRF has published these lovely photos of Mary with the team and horses.

Simon seems to be a fellow Dane in Rio.
Looks like Frederik is wearing the same clothes as he did after visiting the sailing team.

Looks like a bar/club, nothing wrong with going out to eat or hang out. It also seems at least one of his friends from the Sirius Patrol he did in 2000 was with him during a previous tennis match, catching up in Rio

Are most of the royals staying in Rio throughout the games? OR are some of them going back home earlier?

Summary of article in Billed Bladet #32, 2016.
Written by our man in Rio, the Ulrik Ulriksen.

As you know the DRF went to Rio, partly to support the Danish athletes, but also to help promote Danish trade and businesses.
The clothes the DRF wore while at the Olympics are from Bestseller.

However, the culmination of the business-part of the DRF presence was a dinner aboard the full-rigged school ship Danmark.
(Danmark was in exile in 1940 and when USA got involved the war in 1941, Danmark went into service as a school-ship for the US Coast Guard. And based on the experiences the Coast Guard purchased their own tall-ship as a school ship after the war).
Here Mary a silk-skirt from Etro a cardigan from Ann Taylor and jewels from Dulong Fine Jewellery, Orit Elhanati and Cartier.

Mary in particular, probably because she's patron for the Danish Swimming Association, paid special attention on the Danish swimmers, something that was very much appreciated. Frederik also joined her at some point and here the met Henri of Luxembourg.

M&F also visited the Olympic Village and the Danish athletes there and spend three with them, before going to visit the Australian athletes. And it was here Mary was presented with a big kangaroo.

The first Danish medal was in silver and went to the cyclist, Jacob Fuglsang. When Frederik heard about it he announced it to everyone within earshot and made a few dance-steps before calling the PR-man for the Danish team to congratulate Fuglsang.
But J&M and their children also showed up to personally congratulate Fuglsang and Athena and bette Henrik were allowed to touch the medal.
Fuglsang said: This silver-medal is the greatest I have accomplished. It's super-cool. I'm honored that that the royals follow (the events). And the Crown Prince called via our press-man to me and congratulated and he was over the moon. It's really, really cool that the royals pay so much attention to this".
(In the scans below you can see Frederik do his little dance).

But swimming and cycling wasn't the only thing the DRF followed. Also the handball match between DK and Argentina was followed. Both by Frederik who sat among the VIP's and by J&M and children who sat among the spectators. Here an extremely enthusiastic Athena cheered the Danish team. And as you can tell from one of the photos in the scans mademoiselle Athena knows exactly where she has her dad - at her feet...

Nikolai and Felix were interviewed by our reporter.
Q: How has the trip to Brazil been?
Nikolai: "It's been a fantastic experience. It's always exciting to go to new places and meet new people and cultures. And then it's exciting to experience the Olympics".
Felix: "I think it was very exciting. It's our first time in South America, so that I have beel looking very much forward to trying".

Q: How has it been to go with your younger siblings, Athena and Henrik?
N: "I think it's been cozy to be with the whole family".
F: "Yes, it's really like in the day to day life. Then we also look after them once in a while".

Q: You have here in Rio experienced the Olympics and seen quite a bit of sport - have you yourselves been doing some sport on the trip?
N: "Yes, we have. We've stayed fit on this trip. We have played a lot of ball on the beach. Especially volleyball and then we have been running a bit".

Q: What sport do you (informal you) like the best, Felix?
F: "I've been boxing for five years now and then I also like to run and cycle. Cycling, that I do a lot".

Q: What does such a trip with your father, Princess Marie and your two little siblings mean to you?
N: "Such a family-trip is always exciting and it's nice to experience something new together. That's something we together in doing and which we look very much forward to".

Q: Now the holiday is over and you are going back to school. How are you about returning home to the start of the school-year?
F: "I'm actually pretty fine about going home and start in school again. I've missed the friends a bit, so I really don't mind it".
N: "It's just like any other start of the school-year. It's nice to return home to Denmark again. It's be good to start in school".

J&M also talked to our reporter.
Joachim: "We've been busy. We've had official events, big or small, every day and sometimes several times a day.
Our children have come with us to get a unique experience and to experience a bit of the Olympics. That has been the purpose of bringing them along on the journey, since it on top of everything is taking place during the holiday. Now we are all going back home and we have to get back to work".
Marie: "The children have coped with the trip so well. It's been a pleasure. I'll say it's rare we bring them along, but it wasn't a challenge. I was a bit worried to begin with, but it went so well.
They are ready to start a new year. Henrik is to start a new school-year on 16th August, so he didn't miss days at school because of this trip.
It has basically been a good experience for the children, I believe. The little ones have been very interested in all the new. They have been curious just like Felix and Nikolai. We have some easy and curious children.
They are children who love to experience new things. They are very happy".

See for yourselves here: https://app.box.com/s/tkg3iovlb0xly79phnilodx88jgmhyqo

And a little reminder: You are free to download the scans as you please, or the whole folder.
You are also free to upload the scans from your own account outside TRF.
But please do not copy paste this link outside TRF.
Also, BB has the copyrights, not me. So it's BB who has the credits outside TRF rather than me.
