Before the Olympics started, Frederik had given an interview regarding the Olympics and Danish athletes. He said that one of the goals was for Denmark to surpass the 9 medals won in London, the goal was 10. Denmark now has 12, most medals since 1948. Frederik after the badminton game today

And the king and queen were seen at the Equestrian Jumping individual final round A today. Queen Silvia with her "Estelle" phone. The king and queen were accompanied by Hans Vestberg, the Chairman of the Swedish Olympic Committee. He has been with the royal couple in many events.

Queen Silvia had work events with World Childhood Foundation Brazil on Tuesday and Wednesday, that is why king Carl Gustaf was seen at the Olympic games alone.

Swedish Peder Fredricson got silver at Equestrian Jumping individual final round on Friday. King Carl Gustaf and queen Silvia met Fredricson after he had got his medal.
- It was very nervous to watch, but it is wonderful that it went so well. We sat down and crossed our fingers, Queen Silvia said.
King Carl Gustaf agrees with the queen.
- I say the same as the Queen. I think it has been hanging in the air. Peder has been good for many years. It's great that he gets payoff for all the work that has been done. Amazingly fun, the king said.

Frederik has as a member of the IOC criticized the Brazilian hosts for not handling the check-in of the spectators to the various events well enough.
Even though things improved during the games, it was not good enough.

In too many cases far from all seats at events were used and too many had to wait in line in vain to get in.

All that despite Rio having had expert-help and six years in which to prepare and figure out the best procedure to ensure as many spectators getting as possible. - A live crowd being crucial for the atmosphere.

I can not imagine a Princess in shorts making a curtsey.... But instead of just saying "Hiya!" from her place and waving, she came towards the Queen and the King and did a handshake. That was also a proper one: with eye-contact en a lovely smile. Very neat and very polite, I must say. The King and Queen of Sweden looked pleased.

today Frederik had IOC meetings and the handball final. It looks like he won't be at the closing ceremony, and heading back to Denmark. He is regent starting tomorrow August 22 until September 3rd
