State attorney appeals against verdict for Qatari Prince - press
PRAGUE- The state attorney's office has appealed against the verdict for a member of the Qatari royal family, Prince Hamid bin Abdal Sani, who was recently sentenced to two and a half years in prison for sex with 16 underage and juvenile girls, the daily Pravo writes today.
"We are convinced that the penalty is too lenient," the paper was told by state attorney Kamil Svec, adding that he would demand roughly five years in prison.
Prince Hamid bin Abdal Sani, too, appealed the verdict on the spot and the case will now be dealt with by the Prague City Court, whose panel is to have the proceedings in the summer.
The Qatari authorities have tried in vain to take over Sani's prosecution.
At the beginning of the case, Justice Minister Pavel Nemec decided to pass the case to Qatar, but the court did not accept his decision and called it unlawful. Now Nemec's steps are being checked by the police.
Al-Sani is still in prison. On Friday, he was visited there by his distant relative, Qatari Foreign Minister Hamad bin Jasim bin Jabir Al Thani, who was on a private visit to the Czech Republic and also spoke with his Czech counterpart Cyril Svoboda.

desertrosemrk,
I enjoyed the pics, thanks for posting them.
Just finished watching a fascinating interview of the Emir with Charlie Rose. http://www.charlierose.com/
He spoke about women, education and Qatar, etc. It was Wonderful!
No, Shiekha Mozah was not interviewed; however, they did speak of her. They talked about her commitment to education and that because of her efforts there were many US educational university campus in Qatar. They also spoke about increasing numbers of women studying for degrees in non traditional professions. The Emir was obviously very proud of Sheikha Mozah, you could see it in his eyes when he spoke of her.
In a few days the transcript of the interview should be posted on the site.
