Prince William offers congratulations to Oxford researchers.

Quote:
Well done, I’m so pleased for all of you, I really am. I saw it in everyone’s faces back in June how much time and effort was going into this, and I could see that there was a lot of pressure on everyone, so I’m so thrilled that you’ve cracked it – so really well done," he said. William, 38, spoke with Professor Andy Pollard, Professor of Paediatric Infection and Immunity, Professor Sarah Gilbert, Professor of Vaccinology, and Professor Louise Richardson, Vice-Chancellor of Oxford University about the vaccine, created alongside AstraZeneca. The researchers told the prince how the vaccine — found to be up to 90% effective — is based on decades of in-depth research and will be transformational in the next six months.

Campaigners have directed their concern at The Duke of Cambridge about Royal Hunting, after a little owl (protected species) was killed in a Fenn trap. This news was originally published in The Times, which is behind a paywall, but Tatler has picked it up.

That is just daft clickbait. HM makes the decisions there and then it will be up to Charles. What do they think william is going to walk in and tell Granny that he's just been down to Sandringham and overruled all her instructions to her Estate Manager because after all, one day he'll be King?
Yeah, right!

Fair enough, I agree that it's ridiculous that the activists/campaigners are directing their anger at William, even though it's the Sandringham Estate workers who installed the Fenn traps. The British Association for Shooting and Conservation at one point mentioned that "As a working estate, Sandringham adheres to all the appropriate standards and regulations required". Even Norfolk police "stated that no offences were committed and officers did not investigate".

Prince William has been helping out with the national Lockdown effort, making a surprise visit to a homeless charity in London.
Homeless charity The Passage announced that the Duke of Cambridge visited their centre on three separate occasions before Christmas, where he helped pack food and spoke to homeless residents.
The Duke worked alongside a team of volunteers to prepare hot meals for individuals who had recently been moved off the streets and into emergency hotel accommodation. He also spoke to homeless residents about their recent experiences.

I've been impressed with the number of times that we've seen the younger members of the BRF and other royal families volunteering with food banks, delivering food or serving meals since the pandemic began.

Why should it go unpublicized? Shouldn’t the humble, bread-and-butter work of the BRF be noted, lest it lead to criticism of ‘they don’t do enough’?

Sometimes they use these visits to gain an insight into the real issues, not just set up for tv cameras.
Not everything is a photo opportunity.
