The first one and the last one aren't 2008, but the middle two are from this year. The first one, I think, was from the Blenheim Palace horse event in ??summer 2004, or thereabouts. And the last one, I am sure was taken at some point in the spring or summer of 2007.
|
Yes, I the first one looks like it was taken in 2004, I think. I thought all of them were taken in either 2007 or 2008. On the last photos her dressing is rather plan. She just keep on wearing boots in all of her outfits. Even, in summer outfits she's wearing boots. I guess it's her style. I haven't seen much photos of Kate without boots.

AnastasiaEvidence, I've seen quite a few photos of Catherine from this year where she's not wearing boots. I was quite surprised, but she didn't wear boots to Peter Phillips and Autumn Phillips' (nee Kelly) wedding, and she didn't wear boots to the Boodles boxing event, and she was wearing sneakers last weekend during the celebrations of Prince William's birthday. Maybe she's decided to wear boots less often?
I think she's a pretty girl who needs to play up her features by wearing colors other than black and white, and continuing her trend of wearing boots less often.

^Sometimes it has occurred to me that she tries, or tried at one time to kind of "show off" the boots and make them into a signature for her. The problem is that it didn't work out quite like that. It has become a standing joke: Kate and her boots. But I have wondered if she wanted to turn it into a "style flagship" for her or something.

How's this for a totally crazy idea! Maybe, just maybe, she wears boots because she likes to wear them.

Yes, I agree. In some photos she doesn't wear boots. But, I think it's her own signature. In my opinion, I don't think boots are a formal style for royals. I have seen some photos of Beatrice and Eugenie wearing boots, but they usually wear heels. I would expect a typical royal to wear very stylish high heels. Kate doesn't have to dress elegant. She feels more confortable dressing in a ordinary way. It's great to wear what you like in your own opinion.

In some of these pictures, she reminds me a bit of Sweden's Crown Princess Victoria at that age.

Yes, I think she has made it clear she likes them!
There are many times when the boots are, IMHO, a very bad choice, where another kind of shoes would compliment the outfit better. Like that turquoise dress she paired with brown boots, that was a very bad combination IMHO. And at the Diana concert, her dress was nice, but with the boots........

The subject of boots has been discussed at length in other Kate Middleton threads; there's no need for this thread to also succumb.
The Royal House of Fashion forum has the Kate Middleton's Fashion & Style thread and it appears to be sadly lacking in boots commentary.
thanks.
Warren
(who has a few pairs of boots)

Those are great pics, hilal. Her skirt is beautiful.
Here is the link for Kate's pictures on Abaca USA: click here
Now there are some new ones from the Nelson Mandela concert and the birthday polo, etc. and the photos keep going back to the van Cutsem-Astor wedding in 2005.

Well obviously she wants to look like them if her future is with them. She looks very pretty, obviously she looks different from a few years back people change. Thanks for all the old photos loved seeing them again.

I don't understand what they look like. They look like humans to me. Why not be different, dare a little bit. But somebody explain what members of the royal family look like.

I think she would make a great model. In your twenties a lot of people are just finding their right career for them, unfortunately Ms Middleton had to do it in the public eye.

It looks like a stress gesture to me. Like oiy, outta my way, paps, with your incessant clicking, make some room for me to pass at least? Or it could just be the sun in her eyes.
