Protection officers have been spotted at the Lindo Wing.

@SkyNewsEditor: Watch the rumours start flying now re #Kate. Is she in or isn't she? Royal protection officers seen at #Lindo. Dry run or real thing?

@IkonPictures: @phildampier A couple of protection officers were seen in Paddington early this morning. Either it was a test run or she's in.

Let's hope it's a really thing but I wouldn't be surprised if they are doing a test run at random times.

Yeah one of the royal photographers just said protection officers were there last week, so it might just be a test run. We should know for sure in a few hours.

We'll know in about an hour, tops, me thinks, since KP said they'd only announce btwn 8am & 10pm GMT any news. It's just after 7am in London right now.

I'm hoping it's the real deal. :)

If one of the press outside the hospital spotted her, then we might have confirmation earlier. I am pretty sure there are one or two members of the press keeping a close eye on back doors.

Oh, I absolutely agree, especially by 6 or 7 am, there's got to be at least one or two members of the press keeping an eye on all entrances. But, I was just saying that we should know within an hour, for certain, since KP isn't likely to send out any tweets before then if they meant what they said during their press briefing a few weeks ago.

I guess we won't to have to wait any longer, only a few minutes left for KP to start rolling the announcements :)

Well another run through with the sniffer dogs just now - Royal photographer James Whatling has posted a photo on his twitter.

@HRHDuchesskate: Reports of a royal convoy escorting an ambulance are surfacing. Again, no official confirmation!

@CourtierUK: Tweeters reporting having seen an ambulance & royal escort in Central London. Reports conflicting about exactly where though...

ok, so it is going to happen today finally, right?

I think the baby will be born tomorrow. 29 April 2015

I am quite sure a royal convoy wouldn't be used - maybe the person saw a couple of posh cars and a dodgy-looking ice-cream van going in the same direction, vaguely near St James Palace!?

I dont understand the ambulance unless Catherine is in the ambulance ?

Arrggghhh.. This is even more frustrating than no news at all.

If there was an ambulance, Kensington Palace is quite a large complex and there are hundreds of people there who might have a medical emergency, including the diplomats, etc. in Kensington Palace Gardens who might have their own security "convoy." Also, if I'm remembering correctly from last time's false starts, there's an air ambulance landing site in that area.

No ambulance or royal escort but very discretly a private car will take the duchess to the hospital

The two boxes of croissants & Danish pastries -wrapped in pink ribbon!- and coffees were bought from a local shop, but delivered by KP staff

Twitter is saying the pastries were breakfast delivered to the waiting fans!

I thought something was going on here.

KP confirm William and Kate saw the news reports about those camping out and wanted them to know 'they were thinking of them' #RoyalBaby

Maria Scott said: They knocked on the tent and said good morning, we have a present from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. #RoyalBaby

Reminds me of how the Duchess of Cornwall came out of Clarence House to hand round mugs of tea to fans camping out for Will/Kate's wedding.

Very nice and sweet of the Cambridge's of doing this. Let you know that William and Catherine are excited and understand everyone else's excitement too.

Finally a pr wise move :whistling: I think it means no baby today... Still, more and more convinced of a very last april due date

I think the baby is tardy. George arrived when he felt like being slapped on the behind too.

If the baby is indeed overdue I guess it is left only two days before induction... We'll see

Three weeks before and two weeks after due date is completely acceptable.
A child born three weeks before due date or two weeks after due date is born a terme.
If you choose for a natural birth, induction will take place after two weeks over due date. At least that is the procedure here in Europe.
Of course only when mother and child are in good condition (daily monitored)

Everyone seems to be counting on the fact that she had her 12-week-checkup at 12 weeks. But it is not unusual that the hospital-scheduals are full and a mother has her checkup at 11 or 13 weeks.
