"East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) supports families and cares for children and young people with life-threatening conditions across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk. The charity provides care and support wherever the family wishes – in families’ own homes, in the community or at one of their hospices – with the challenges that having a life-threatening condition can often bring. The range of support includes short break care, specialist play activities, music therapy, hydrotherapy, parent groups and siblings groups, care at the end of life and bereavement support for all family members."

I'll be sure to stock up on a bunch. I usually tear up when I see Catherine interacting with children, but this particular visit will be more emotional for everyone involved.

I'm glad she's going this route. When one's passionate about something, one has more confidence and poise during the speech. I think she'll do fabulously.

I agree with you. He is, no doubt very, very proud of his wife. I'm going to venture and say that he probably gets some updates from his staff, and Catherine herself. I'd imagine they chat via phone or Skype, and she fills him in on her doings. Either way, it's lovely that he's able to follow her progress.

Oh, I'm sure! I can only imagine the nervousness she's experiencing at the moment. Public speaking is not easy, and I bet the pressure is that much stronger because of who she is, and her immense popularity (I do hope that people don't put her on too high of a pedestal, because if Heavens forbid, she'll slip, it'll be all over the news, and the disappointing and snide comments about her incompetence will flow like wine). I'm rooting for her, and wish her the best.

I believe tomorrow is her engagement with the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall. I'm looking forward to following that one as well.

Kate must indeed be very nervous and exited now; first public speech is a daunting prospect even if there is a small audience. But to have to speak knowing that so many camera lenses are directed against you - that must be even harder.
Hopefully, she will be able to overcome her nervousness.

I'd have to cancel. I hate public speaking and I only had to do it in front of a small class in college or on job interviews. I can only imagine how scared Kate is. But I recall when she stumbled a little when she was walking into the church on her wedding day and how she didn't let it put a crack in her poise and confidence.

Learning public speaking in a classroom with a few dozen people isn't the same as being in front of the world media where every word and expression will be scrutinized and dissected.

Public speaking is a really difficult task. I've done it in front of 100's of people as well as small groups and it never gets any easier. Its about content and deliver of a message in way that is meaningful. Its also about not making a fool of yourself. But once its finished, then that's it.

The thought of giving a speech and it being seen by millions worldwide again, and again and again with every little hesitation debated would fill me with horror. ITs not like any other talking. I think she'll be fine but don't underestimate the task.
