I don't think she'll have any adults or teens in her bridesmaid group. Just some tiny girls.

Yet that's very British, not so? The way of American weddings, I mean, can have flower girls and ring bearers, but usually there are adult bridesmaids. Would Meghan (or any bride from another country marrying into the BRF) morph to that extent? Why do that? Especially as a wedding tends to be the bride's 'thing'. :flowers:

Adult bridesmaids aren't an American thing. They are as common in the UK. You may have a wider range in age, and not all these flower girl, junior bridesmaid and such titles, but it's not British to only have kids. Even in royal weddings, Pippa was of course maid of honor. We see at the weddings of their friends there are adult bridesmaids and little ones. Heck even older royal weddings like the queen had older bridesmaids.

Pippa is not a royal bride. In no way is she held to any recent standard of bridal parties in the royal family. What Meghan may or may not do if they wed, is a different matter.

It's all just a variation on the same theme isn't it. I don't know that any of it is especially country specific these days.

Typically here in Ireland the title Maid of Honour goes to any married member of the bridal party and Bridesmaid to any single member (... which comes with the dire warning "Three times a bridesmaid, never a bride!!" ...:lol::lol:) and Flower Girl to any little member of the party. Only typically, there's no set rule book!

I'm expecting Pippa to have at least one teenaged or adult attendee to escort her up the isle to oversee any attending tots. A close friend or cousin, if not Kate.

I think there almost certainly be one adult or teenage attendant at least, otherwise you could well have one two year old and one nearly four year old doing everything from attempting to chew their floral bouquet to sitting down in mad-aisle to speaking out of turn to having a tantrum, and that goes for any other tiny attendants in the wedding party. I remember William at the York wedding! Nuff said!

Pippa Middleton: May 2011-

I would imagine that George and Charlotte would sit with their parents once they go the down the aisle. Not left to their own devices like William was during the York wedding. The 2 3yrs old didn't stay with the wedding party during the Cambridges wedding. It was Louise and Margarita with the 2 boys sitting by Pippa. The smallest 2 didn't sit thru the church service and they rejoined the procession right before they get to the door to leave.

Not that we will know, Charlotte probably will spend sometime during the service on mummy or daddy's lap.

Weddings are a tedious affair for the smaller party members. George and Charlotte have attended a number of church services in the last year or two however without calamity, so this one shouldn't prove too onerous; there will be a princess type person played by Aunt Pippa and fun dressed people after all! AND they have probably been promised a party!

I still wouldn't be surprised to see Kate play the Matron of Honour role (think I might have called it Maid of Honour in an earlier unrelated post!). Other than Uncle Gary's wedding, I don't know that she has been a bridal party member and if not for your only sister, who else?!

Just love Pippa! She looks great and is always doing the charity thing.

Starting to look like Madonna.

The dress is really nice though. A surprisingly non boring shoe choice.

Love the dress! :flowers: Even the flounce, though not my thing. Great dress, great look. Tip-top shape she is in. ;)

Don't like that flounce. She'd look better in something more stream-lined.

Wow she looks incredible- her athleticism is amazing. She does some pretty extreme sports that require that level of fitness. I find it inspirational.

I also really like the dress.

Agree, they look 10 years older. But this is not the "fault" of the dress and shoes. More fault on the veeery muscoulous arms and the coffure..... Maybe the Pre-Wedding stress?

:previous: In no way do these two look like they are in their mid-forties. They are very much what mid-thirties looks like imo - muscular, yes. Trim, svelte. I'm a bit nonplussed by the observation. Oh well.

I don't think they look older than what they are either. Just a very happy couple about to be married and start a life together. :)

she looks great in that dress , love the shoes too

I agree. They both look like well dressed early 30s who are happy to be together. I don't get that they look really old either. I guess we all see what we want to see in other people for whatever personal reason.

I sincerely hope that they are extremely happy in their married life as true happiness is the main core of a brilliant life. Nothing can ever beat it.

I think the dress would look much better without the flounce (and I don't mind a flounce).

Pippa can have a hard/drawn look to her at times .

That's the make up. She looked great at her book launch a while back.

Well James is 41 so nothing wrong with saying he doesn't look early 30s:cool:

Pippa has a bit of Kate look pre wedding. Bit orange in some photos, might be lighting. And she is so muscular, looks a bit bobble head in some photos. Again may be a mix of picture and her outfit.

They look quite happy though.

So if paps are to be believed, there are five bridesmaids. Three have been identified, though only one confirmed.

Princess charlotte 2
Avia Horner also 2 (dad works with James)
Tallulah Goldsmith (Pippa cousin)

The other two not mentioned. My guesses, if report is right on 5.

Alice St John Websters daughter Rose who is a year older than George

One of James' nieces. Lily is 15, the same age as Tallulah so may be a good pair. Her younger sister is 12.

No mentioning how many page boys.

Sensing she has a strapless gown, to accent those muscular arms..

:previous: Oh gosh, I hope not! Every woman and her dog has adopted the strapless look on their wedding day for the past decade. Enough! I'm hoping for something original, even a bit edgy for Pippa's gown.

If you look at pictures from weddings the royals have attended, very few bridal dresses have been strapless. Even Natasha Archer's actual wedding dress was not strapless.
I think Pippa will go strapless for her reception dress but not the actual ceremony.

I don't expect her to be in a strapless gown. That would kinda surprise me.

Traditionally the COE asked brides shoulders to be covered, like many Catholic Churches still do. The rules thohgh have lightened over the years. As we see with the BRF and their gowns, they seem to continue the tradition.

As OH pointed out, at the weddings we see the cambridges attend, majority of the brides continue. Upper crust sticking to some more traditions.

I'd be surprised if Pippa went strapless. I do think she will go less traditional though.

I still think she would look fantastic in a Gatsby or Downton abbey feel, a sleek gown cut wise but elaborate. Great little head piece.

I concur about strapless. No.

This is quite exciting. Hard to say (from my end) what she will wear. I loved her gown at Kate's wedding. Something similar would be my guess but I am clueless.

I wonder about her flowers, her choice of bouquet. :flowers:

And then there's Carole, she's no slouch in the fashion department, and Kate herself, as well as the bridal party. So, we wait.

BTW will we see a rehearsal dinner thing? People arriving for that?

While she would look great in the style of dress she wore as Kate's bridesmaid I don't see her wearing anything like that since such a big deal was made about it and how it fit her.

Maybe she will do something very romantic...can't wait to see!

But it's her wedding and she's a private citizen. Why should 'people' be a concern? The other was at the wedding of a future Queen, wasn't that the issue? :flowers:
