I can't believe its taken them so long to go across the pond, really looking forward to the visit.

:previous: Thank you for posting this information. I have to say that as someone who remembers the issues between the UK and the Republic of Ireland, I'm pleased that the Queen's historic State Visit in 2011 has been followed by more visits from the BRF.

Amen to that. The people of these isles are family & these visits are part of the ongoing process to secure peace for the next generations.

I'm sure the Cambridges will recieve a warm Céad Míle Fáilte.:flowers:

Attitudes are thankfully changing in the Irish Republic, the queen received a very warm welcome back in 2011.

Standing Ovation at the Dublin Docklands

As did the Duke and Duchess of Sussex back in 2018

Lovely to see! TCD library & the Book of Kells are stunning.

I went to Cork a few years ago and was very pleased to see a picture of the Queen (from her visit there) in the main marketplace - the English Market! - there. Times have moved on: it's lovely to see members of the Royal Family being given a warm welcome.

I would be interested to know if they are as well rec'd (Any of them) in the North. Things seem to be much different when any of them go there. Not without reason, but I'm wondering how fast things are changing there.

They are well received of course by all those of good faith. From the unionist majority by something bordering on adulation.

HM's meeting with Martin Maguinness was friendly & humorous - "I'm still alive" she replied when asked how she was by Mr Maguinness.:D

Just for your information there are many (unionist) people in Northern Ireland who don't like the term "the north" (of Ireland) but prefer that part of the UK to be referred to by its formal name of Northern Ireland.

Yes absolutely it is - rebel Cork indeed! I know it well. Lovely place & people.

HM is a descendent of that most famous of Irish High Kings Brian Boru after all:flowers:
