Mrs. Christine de Cock de Rameyen, nee Countess of Oultremont, primo voto Countess de Brouchoven de Bergeyck died in Woluwe St-Lambert on 8 September.

She was born on 26 June 1923 in Nouvelles as a daughter of Count Eduard d'Oultremont (1880-1945) & his wife, Baroness Georgine Pyckhe the Peteghem (1887-1978). She married firstly in Nouvelle on 16 July 1946 Count Pierre de Brouchoven de Bergeyck (1918-1959) and secondly in Ixelle on 7 December 1960civilly and on 10 December religiously Roger de Cock de Rameyen (1904-1981).

She was the sixth of seven siblings and last one who passed away.

Oultremont

Countess Arlette of Ursel, nee Countess of Oultremont, died un Uccle on 14 September, eighteen days after her 93rd birthday.

She was born in Ghent as the oldest of five children of Count Pierre d'Oultremont (1883-1965) & his wife, Baroness Elisabeth Pyckhe the Peteghem (1889-1937). She married in Linkebeek on 19 July 1947 Count Jean of Ursel (1917-1990), oldest of five children of Count Georges of Ursel (1890-1944) and only one by his untimely untimely deceased first wife, Gaetane van de Werve d'Immerseel (1895-1917; died four months and a day after having her son). He widowed two years earlier; his first wife Jeanne Lejeune de Schiervel (1918-1945) died in concentration camp at Ravensbruck, after only two years and nine months of mariage, bereaving her only then 23-month-old daughter Gaetane (b.1943). Together they had five sons: Lancelot (b.1953), Aurian (b.1955), Cedric (b.1957), Gael (b.1959) & Wauthier (b.1961).
She is survived by them, her stepdaughter, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Count Gustaf Mannerheim died on August 16th in Finland at the age of 50. He was the last member of the comital family still living in Finland. The former Finnish president and marshall Mannerheim was his grandfather's uncle. There are still members of the family living in Sweden and France.

Very sad news: Elisabeth Dennis, younger daughter of Countess Clementine von Ledebur-Wicheln and her husband David Dennis, passed away this year, only 17 years old. She is survived by her parents and sister Matilda (b. 1993).

Princess Marie-Evelyne Cecile Gabrielle de Broglie-Revel died on 7 July.

She was born in Chateau La Violette on 29 October 1928 as the second of six children of Count Dominique de Broglie (1902-1969) & his wife, Guillemette Lamy de La Chapella Noguarere (1905-1992).
She is survived by her two youngest sisters Bernadette (b.1939) and Odilie (b.1944) as well as many nephews and nieces; she didn't set her own family.

Count Depold Czernin von Chudenitz died on 12 July, five days after his 79th birthday.

He was born in Prague as oldest of three children of Count Rudolf Czernin von Chudenitz (1904-1984) & his wife, Countess Friederike von Wenckheim (1911-1991).
He married in Vejprnice on 22 April 1961 Princess Polyxena of Lobkowicz (b.1941) [oldest of five children of Jaroslav Prince Of Lobkowicz (1910-1985) & his wife Countess Gabrielle von Korff gen. Schmising Kerssenbrock (1917-?)] by whom he had five children: Tomas (b.1962), Teresie (b.1964), Depold (b.1969), Johann (b.1972) & Gabriella (b.1975).
He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren as well as sister Rosine (b.1939), brother Divis (b.1942) and their families.

Britta Orgovanyi-Hanstein, nee Winternitz died this year.

She was born in 1941. She became a wife of Attila Orgovanyi-Hanstein (1946-1987) [son of Baroness Maximiliane von Berg (1908-?) & her last husband Bela Orgovanyi-Hanstein (1907-?)] by whom she had two children: Diana (b.1972, now wife of Hereditary Prince Johannes of Schwarzenberg) & Maximilian (married, has a daughter Maxima).

Christa von der Marwitz nee Zeiss died this year.

She was born in 1918. In 1948 she married Gerhard von der Marwitz (1914-2001) [only son of Erika von Cramm (1880-1915) & her husband Caspar von der Marwitz (died 1945)] by whom she had two daughters: Beate (b.1949) & Iris0Charlotte (b.1951) as well as two granddaughters and three great-grandchildren.

Count Hubert d'Ornano died on September 25. He is one of the leaders of the cosmetic company Lancôme et Orlane. The Ornano family originate from high Corsican nobility and Count Hubert's wife, Countess Isabelle, is a member of the Polish nobility.

Charles-Louis Coppieters de Gibson died in Uccle on 30 September, ten days before his 89th birthday.

He was born in San Josse ten Noode as second of five children of Phillip Coppieters de Gibson )1900-1963) & his wife Wilhelmine, nee Burny (1902-?).
He married in Elizabethville on 5 April 1958 Countess Myriam de Lannoy (1926-2008) [fouth of seven children and oldest daughter of Count Paul de Lannoy (1898-1980) & his wife, Princess Beatrice de Ligne (1898-1982); she didn't live so long to see her niece converting into Hereditary Duchess of Luxembourg] by whom he had three children and ten grandchildren.

Princess Pauline of Lobkowicz, nee Countess of Ursel died on 9 October.

She was born in Berlin on 7 April 1926 as fourth of five children and second daughter of Count Louis of Ursel (1896-1969) & his wife Genevieve, nee Le Pelletier de Rosanbo (1893-1973). She married in Breuilpont on 19 December 1981 Prince Johann of Lobkowicz (1920-2000) [tenth of fourteen children and fourth of seven sons of Jaroslav, Prince of Lobkowicz (1877-1953) & his wife Marie, nee Countess of Beaufort-Spontin (1885-1942)] widower after Countess Marie-Therese von Belcredi (1922-1978). She then became a stepmother of Wenzel (b.1953), Therese (b.1954) & Marguerite (b.1957).
She is survived by her stepchildren, their families as well as three of her siblings and a host of nephews and nieces with their families; one of her brother Charles predeceased her in 2011 aged 90.

Countess Silvia von Wedel, nee Majal died this year.

She was born in 1956 and married in 1978 Count Christian Alfred von Wedel (b.1951) [only son of Princess Caroline Reuss (1923-2010) & her husband, Count Alfred von Wedel (1895-1973) but they later divorced.
She bereaved two sons: Lando (b.2001) & Alexis (b.2003)

Countess Luise of Stolberg-Stolberg, nee von Pachmann died in July.

She was born in Zell am See on 24 July 1923 and married in Werfen bei Salzburg on 24 March 1948 Count Friedrich Leopold of Stolberg-Stolberg (1921-2007) [son of Count Bernhard of Stolberg-Stolberg (1881-1952) & his wife Hedwig, nee Archduchess of Austria (1896-1970)] by whom she had seven children: Christoph (b.1948), Marie Elisabeth (b.1949), Peter (b.1951), Johannes (1952-2005), Markus (b.1953), Eleonore (b.1959) & Maria Inmaculata (b.1964).
She is survived by six of her children and fourteen grandchildren.

Count Georg von Goëss died this year, aged 77.
He was born on 24 April 1938, the ninth child of Count Johan Anton von Goëss and of his wife, née Countess Marie Valerie von Meran.
He was married since 1966 to Baroness Veronika von Haerdtl, by whom he had four children.

The Dowager Marchioness of Cholmondeley, née Lavinia Margaret Leslie, died on 7 November 2015, at the age of 94.

She was born in 1921, the daughter of Lt-Col John Leslie and of his wife (née Margaret Gilliat). She married in 1947 to Hugh Cholmondeley, who later succeeded as the 6th Marquess of Choldmondeley. They became parents of three daughters and one son and remained married until the Marquess died in 1990.
She is survived by her daughters Lady Rose, Lady Margot and Lady Caroline, her son the 7th Marquess of Cholmondeley and their families.

Countess Catharina Orsini und Rosenberg, nee Countess Bielke died on 4 November, over seven months after her older sister, Countess Gunilla Fugger von Babenhausen (b.1919); she would have turned 85 today.

She was born in Linkoping as fourth child and second daughter of Thure Gabriel, Count Bielke (1894-1940) & his wife, Countess Birgitta Sparre of Sofdeborg (1895-1983); apart from Gunilla she had also two brothers: Nils (1917-2010) & Carl-Gustaf (1923-1992) and another sister Marianne. On 22 October 1953 in Sturefors (Sweden) she bacame a wife of Count Johann of Orsini und Rosenberg (1926-2004).
She is survived by her sister Marianne (b.1934), sons Andreas (b.1954) & Hubertus (b.1962), daughter Cecilia (b.1961), eight grandsons, three granddaughters and one great-grandson, as well as a host of nephews and nieces with their families.
Apart from losing her father at a very young age, the most horrible sadness came to her twice: she lost her youngest child Karl on 27 February 1974, one month and 22 days after his sixth birthday; also her older daughter Birgitta died on 17 June 2000, two and a half months before turning 45, leaving her husband and two children.

He himself was married thrice: firstly (from 1969 to 1973) to Catherine Eisenbraun (b.1947), mother of his only daughter Nathalie (b.1970), secondly to Sibylle Mergehen and thirdly to a woman named Margit (surname unknown).

Countess Marc de Lannoy, née Jessica Home, died on 15 November 2015, aged 53.

She was born in 1962, the daughter of Douglas and Mary Home.
She married in 1988 to Count Marc de Lannoy (1959-2008), himself the son of Count and Countess Charles de Lannoy. They became parents of two children, Guillaume and Victoria.
Sadly, her son predeceased her aged only 19 on 1 October 2008 and was followed by Count Marc only two weeks later.

Two deaths among the Alliata family:

Don Francesco Alliata, Prince of Villafranca, Prince of the Holy Roman Empire, Duke of Salaparuta, Grandee of Spain, etc., died on 1 July 2015, aged 95.
He was born in Palermo in 17 November 1919, the second son of Don Gabriele Alliata, Prince of Villafranca, etc., and of his wife, née Donna Vittoria San Martino Ramandetta.
He was married firstly to Teresa Correale Santacroce, from 1949 until their divorce in 1984; they became parents of one daughter, Donna Vittoria Alliata.
In 1985 he remarried to Adelaide Bellingardi.
He succeeded in 1979 to his childless elder brother Giuseppe as the Head of the family and to all his titles.
He is survived by his wife and his daughter. His successor in his titles is his nephew Don Gabriele Alliata (son of his younger brother Don Raimondo).
He was a film producer and director, as well as the owner of the magnificient villa Alliata in Bagheria (Sicily), where he lived and died.

She was born on 5 September 1913, the eldest of the two daughters of Prince Don Enrico Alliata and of his wife, née Sonia de Ortuzar.
She married in 1935 to Fosco Maraini (1912-2004), a renowned photographer, anthropologist, ethnologist, writer, mountaineer and academic. They had three daughters together: Dacia (also a renowned writer), Yuki and Toni. They divorced in the late 1960s.
Donna Topazia was herself a writer, as well as a painter and art dealer.

Count Don Giammaria Visconti di Modrone, of the Dukes of Grazzano Visconti and Counts of Lonate Pozzolo, died today 3 December 2015 after a long illness, aged 80.

He was born 7 May 1935, the second and youngest child of Don Luigi Visconti di Modrone (who in 1942 succeeded as Duke of Grazzano Visconti) and of his first wife, née Countess Maddalena Arrivabene-Valenti-Gonzaga. He had an older brother, Barnabò, who died earlied this year.
He was married from 1962 until her death to his first cousin Donna Violante Caracciolo, of the Princes of Castagneto and Dukes of Melito (1943-2003); they were parents of one son, Don Luchino, and one daughter, Donna Verde.

Count Jean d'Harcourt died on 29 November 2015 in Saanen, Switzerland, aged 85.

He was born in Paris on 15 March 1930, the second and youngest child of François, Duke d'Harcourt, and of his first wife, née Antoinette Gérard.
He had an older brother, François, who is the current Duke d'Harcourt.
He has been married twice, firstly to Silvia Agulla and secondly to Gabrielle Steers, who survived him. Both marriages were childless.
Count Jean was the heir presumptive to the title of Duke d'Harcourt; the new heir presumtive is his third cousin, Count Anne-François d'Harcourt.
