While I hardly know most of the counts and countesses mentioned here, I still like it that while in most cases no longer 'required' many of them tend to marry within the nobility.

I find that interesting as well. The Royals rarely make equal or even aristocratic unions...choosing ( correctly imo) to marry primarily for love.
However the nobility are also apparently making love matches....within their own ranks.

Its a matter of marrying in your social circles which is quite common.
Its the reason I always said that if any of QEII's grandchildren married a title it would be the York girls. Unlike their cousins, Beatrice and Eugenie moved in the royal and aristocratic circles on the continent. Beatrice has proven me right on that. For the most part Harry and William socialize with the landed gentry with a rare exception like Harry's hunting buddy and William at social events.
The continental aristos and former royals move in the same circle. They often attend the same schools. They manage to marry for love as well as marry titles because its common to find your partner in your social circle.
The groom's paternal grandmother was a Princess of Croy by birth.

The engagement was announced 20 June, 2020, between Abdullah Mukesh, son of the late Salah Salim Mukesh, and Habiba Yusuf, & Miss Sophie Bridget Elwes [born 1988], scion of that landed family, daughter of the late Martin Stephen Robert Elwes [1948-2014], by his wife the former Sarah Marianne Worsley [born 25 June, 1958], scion of the Worsley baronets, of Hovingham Hall.
The bride-to-be is a granddaughter maternally of Sir Marcus Worsley, 5th Baronet [1925-2012], of Hovingham Hall, near York, and she is a great-niece of HRH The Duchess of Kent, GCVO [b 1933].
Sophie Elwes was paralysed in a tragic accident at the age of 22 when she fell eight metres from a balcony and crushed her spinal chord. She has been a paraplegic since 2011.
Last year Miss Elwes became Country Life's first 'Girl in Pearls' in a wheelchair.

Beatrice is not marrying a continental noble. She is marrying a British-born citizen, whose father was a naturalized citizen. Edo's mother is English and he was raised by Nicole and his stepfather. Edo has no title - as a British citizens cannot use foreign titles in the UK (since the early 1930s). he is Mr. Edo Mapelli Mozzi. Born and educated in the UK. Andrew and Sarah have known Nicole and her late husband Christopher Shale for decades (Edo's stepfather, who raised him). Edo and Beatrice have moved in the same UK social circles, not European ones. The countly title was created in 1913 and is not recognized in Italy since 1946
