I think he was a cousin of Princess Sybille of Luxemberg, who is also a descendant of the Infanta Beatriz of Spain.

Only 27 years old...how very sad.

Yes, first cousins once removed from Sibylla. Sibylla is first cousins with his father Count Alessandro Lequio di Assaba, both grandchildren of Beatriz. Alessandro's mother Princess Alessandra was Beatriz's eldest child. Sibylla's mother Olimpia was her youngest (there was 2 brothers in between). And a second cousin once removed of King Felipe.

Hard hearing any deaths, but two such young deaths. Fortunately unlike Princess Maria Galitzine, he doesn't leave children. My heart went out to her husband and 2 year old son, and of course her family.

OMG...she was one of HGD Stephanie's circle! How sad....her poor little baby...only 2 years old.

His father is indeed a first cousin of princess Sibilla.

Alejandro had a 4-year older half-brother (by father and his first wife) and a 14 year younger half-sister (by father and his second wife); his parents were never married - his mother was one of his father's many 'conquests'.

And for his mother he was an only child:cry:

Maria Galitzine

What sad news!
Her family seems to be very close to the Grand Ducal Family of Luxembourg.
It's very sad to see such a young person leave so suddenly.

Princess Bdiya Bint Ali Of Iraq died on May 9th aged 100. She was the last surviving Iraqi Princess and the maternal aunt of its last king Faisal II.

Source: https://english.alarabiya.net/en/fe...survivor-of-the-1958-Iraqi-coup-dies-aged-100

Lived to 100 and died a peaceful death. Even the dying peacefully is something most of her family cant say. The things she saw and losses she suffered in her life time. Unlike Princess Hiyam who was injured during the murder of the other members of the royal family, Bdiya was not there. Hiyam died in 1999 (she was Bdiya's sister in law). Bdiya and her husband and three children had sought sanctuary at the Saudi embassy who helped get them out to Egypt from where they went to Switzerland and later London where they settled for good.

She was related twice to Faisal II. The closest of course is being his Aunt, as his mother was her eldest sister Aliya. But she was also a first cousin of his father. Her father Prince Ali was the older brother of King Abdullah I of Jordan and King Faisal I of Iraq. King Abdullah of Jordan (current) is her first cousin twice removed.

She is first cousins with the current pretender to Iraq Prince Ra'ad bin Zeid whose father Zeid was the youngest brother of Ali. Zeid and his family lived in London during the coup, where he was an ambassador.

While Bdiya is the last living princess of the 'reigning monarchy' there are princesses of the royal house remaining. But born after the coup. Her cousin Ra'ad has a daughter born in 1981, and a few granddaughters who all carry the title Princess. His son Zeid (claim to be crown prince of Iraq) was the UN human rights commissioner from 2014-2018. Their titles are confirmed by the Jordanian court as members of the Hashemite house.

Her son

Isn't this the current Landgrave of Hesse? At least that's what's on Wikipedia.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donatus,_Landgrave_of_Hesse
There are two Hesse-branches; this is the Hesse-Philippsthal-branch. Otto's father is the head of that branch.

See also this page with background information on the Hesses. Apparently, all the members of the house are both prince(ss) and landgrav(in)e; not just the head of the house:
The present members of this family bear the title Prince or Princess and Landgrave or Landgravine of Hesse, together with the formal appellation of His or Her Highness.

I doubt it as the names wrong, date of birth is different and parents are different.

Otto’s father is still alive, and has an older brother to succeed him.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wilhelm,_Landgrave_of_Hesse-Philippsthal-Barchfeld

That’s the page for Otto’s father.

Yes, his first son Wilhelm, Prinz und Landgraf von Hessen-Philippsthal-Barchfeld (brother of late Otto) should succeed his father one day as Head of this branch of the family.

In Wikipedia it is stated that Wilhelm is married to Susanne von Kaufmann, although she uses her other name: Alexandra von Kaufmann. They have 3 sons.

Susanne Alexandra Margret von Kaufmann (b. 1971) is the scion of von Kaufmann family:

Unfortunately, the article about her family is only in Russian.

Anyone know when exactly (day and month) Clementine and Elisabeth Dennis died?
