She’s never been allowed to meet her grandsons either.

I remember reading about him when I was a kid, and I had had the impression he had been divorced (obviuolsy I was wrong).. but that his new wife was Ok with the wifelets.. and that there were children by the wifelets as well.

Yes, I remember seeing a TV program about him. He was quite a character. I am sad to learn that he died of COVID19.

The new Marchioness of Bath(Emma) is absolutely gorgeous, and has the most beautiful little boys.

Eccentric is a polite word for the man. He had over 70 wifelets many in cottages on his property. No idea how many kids they may have born him. He only legally recognized one back in 2010 (said he had an 8 year old he didn't see enough of). He had paintings of the karma sutra painted on the walls of his family home. Anna was not the only one missing from their son's wedding. Alex boycotted it. He had handed over the control of the family estate to his son who removed his paintings and started kicking out the wifelets.

The new marchioness family was already linked to them. Emma has a few half siblings. Her older half brother Ian was married to her father in law's half sister Silvy. She was the daughter of the sixth marquess by his second wife.

I first knew about them do to Longleat their manor. We studied it in an art history class as it was designed by Capability Brown. It had the worlds largest maze but also the first drive thru safari park outside Africa. Longleat is actually involved in a breeding program to try and save the northern white rhino.

It’s sad that Anna’s racism has continued. It’s the twenty first century. She has two beautiful little grandsons she will never know.

Information for French speaking members : Décès du 7ème marquis de Bath (1932-2020) – Noblesse & Royautés

Exactly three months and a week after the death of Dagmar von Arbin, née Countess Bernadotte af Wisborg, her sister Martha Elsa Catharina, former Mrs. Tore Nilert followed her (16 days before her 94th birthday).

She was born as the youngest child together of Count Carl Bernadotte of Wisborg (1890-1977) & his first wife Marianne de Geer af Leufsta (1893-1978); her parents divorced in 1935 and two years later her father married Gerty Borjesson (1910-2004) by whom he had another son Claes (b.1942).
She married in Osmo in 1948 Tore Henrik Nilert (1915-1997) but they divorced in 1968.
She left four children: Jan (b.1950), Charlotta (b.1952), Anne-Marie (b.1954) & Fredrik (b.1959), five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren as well as her younger half-brother and many nephews and nieces with their families.

Descendants of Duke Wilhelm of Nassau
She is last of her parents' children together to pass away.

Her younger son Oliver was on TLC on the second season of 'Secret Princes'.

From a previous marriage she had two children Joanna and Daniel de Marsillac. It seems that Joanna and Daniel were perhaps raised by her Baron Dunsany, they were said to be extremely close to him.

Lord David Douglas-Hamilton died in Edinburgh on 6 April.

He was born on 26 December 1952 as the fifth and youngest son of Douglas Douglas-Hamilton, 14th Duke of Hamilton & Brandon, KT, GCVO, AFC, PC (1903-1973) & his wife Lady Elizabeth Ivy Percy (1916-2008), daughter of the 8th Duke of Northumberland (1880-1930).

His father was Lord Steward of the Household to King George VI and to Queen Elizabeth II, 1940-64, was a Knight of the Thistle, Premier Duke in the Peerage of Scotland, Premier Peer of Scotland, and Hereditary Keeper of the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

Lord David, who was unmarried and childless, was a younger brother of Angus Alan Douglas, the 15th Duke (1938-2010), and uncle of Alexander, the present 16th Duke (b. 1978).

The Dunsany's were originally staunchly Roman Catholic Jacobite stock but after the Battle of the Boyne and the Penal Laws they conformed to the Church of Ireland ,however the current 21st Baron of Dunsany is Roman Catholic.

I never knew he took part in that series.

Princess Christa of Lippe, nee von Arnim died on 20 February.

She was born in Leipzig on 2 July 1923 and married in Obercassel on 3 March 1948 Prince Ernst August of Lippe (1917-1990) [son of Count Julius Ernst of Lippe-Biesterfeld, who became Prince Julius Ernst of Lippe in 1905 (1873-1952) & his wife Duchess Marie of Mecklenburg (1878-1948)]
She leaves four children: Friedrich Wilhelm (b.1947), Marie Stephanie (b.1949), Ernst August (b.1952) & Marie Christine (b.1959) as well as nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Its his younger brother Oliver, not the current Baron, who participated. Though I believe his brother appeared at some point.

Her husband was cousins with Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands. Christa's father in law Julius and Bernhard's father (also called Bernhard) were the sons of Ernest, Count of Lippe-Biesterfeld.

Thanks, I was wondering about that.

In the case of Waldeck und Pyrmont's I always wonder about their connection to the Dutch royal family: Prince Georg-Friedrich was a second cousin to queen Juliana of the Netherlands

Fürst Georg Viktor (1831-1893) - Queen Emma (1858-1934; 4th child) - Queen Wilhelmina (1880-1962; only child) - Queen Juliana (1909-2005; only child)
Fürst Georg Viktor (1831-1893) - Fürst Friedrich (1865-1946; 6th child, last reigning fürst) - Georg Wilhelm (1902 - 1971; 4th child) - Georg Friedrich (1936-2020; second child)

Josias, Rixa, Volkwin and Christian-Peter in the announcement are his brothers and sister; I assume Jost Christian and Sophie-Charlotte are Sixtina's brother and sister.

Does anyone know why his second daughter goes by 'Isabella Waldeck' instead of 'princess ...'?

Count Baudoin de Looz-Corswarem died on 15 April.

He was born in Ixelles on 5 March 1935 as the youngest of four children of Count Antoine de Looz-Corswarem (1906-1993) & his wife Marie Josephe, nee Gilles de Pelichy (1907-1999).
He married in 1977 Geneviève Ullens de Schooten (b.1948) by whom he had three children: François (b.1978), Philippe (b.1978) & Isabelle (b.1980) and at least one grandchild.

A short obituary of Prince Georg-Friedrich from Eurohistory:

https://eurohistoryjournal.blogspot.com/2020/04/the-death-of-first-cousin-of-furst.html

His daughter Isabelle changed her surname from "Prinzessin zu Waldeck und Pyrmont" to "Waldeck" in 1989. The reason behind this is not (publicly) known.

In regards to the Dutch connection, it is interesting to note that Georg-Friedrich's wife Sixtina of Stolberg-Stolberg has Juliana as one of her names. It was rumoured that Sixtina's father Wolff Heinrich was considered as a potential spouse for Princess Juliana of the Netherlands...instead, he married a chambermaid, Irma, who became Sixtina's mother.

Baron Friedrich Mayr von Melnhof died in Schloss Glanegg on 14 April.

He was born in Schloss Glanegg on 5 July1924 as fourth of nine children and only son of Countess Maria-Anna von Meran (1897-1983) & her husband Baron Friedrich Mayr von Melnhof (1892-1959).
He married in 1948 Countess Maria Anna of Orsini and Rosenberg (1927-2010) [third of four children and elder daughter of Johannes, Prince of Orsini and Rosenberg (1893-1932) & his wife Henrietta, nee Countess Larisch von Moennich (1903-1994) by whom he had ten children: Maria Theresia (b.1950), Friedrich (b.1952), Theodora (b.1954), Maria Catharina (b.1956), Heinrich (b. and d.1957), Sophie (b.1958), Stephanie (1961-2010), Paul (b.1963), Georg (b.1968) and Maximilian (b.1970).
