Princess Cecylia Maria Czartoryska died on 20 June.

She was born in Żurawno (Poland) on 11 December 1930 as seventh and penultimate child of Prince Kazimierz Jerzy Czartoryski (1892-1936) & his wife Helena, nee Skrzyńska (coat of Arms Zaremba) (1894-1968).
She was unmarried and childless.
One of her sisters, Maria Gabriela, died in 1929 as nearly five-year-old girl.
From her siblings only the youngest one, Barbara (b.1935, also unmarried and childless) is still alive.
One of her nieces died as a baby in 1949 and one nephew - aged 44 in 2004; they are 16 her remaining nephews and nieces.
Her oldest brother Antoni Stanisław Maria (1919-1998) was married, but childless, what concludes that from eight children of their parents only half had descendants.

Prince Gregory Galitzine died on 27 June, thirteen days before turning 63.

He was born in London as son of Prince Yuri Galitzine (1919-2002) & his second wife Sheilagh Sanford-Johnson (1920-2004); his father was previously married to Constance Irene Higginson (1916-?) by whom he had a daughter Alexandra (1946-2003) as well as another daughter Catherine (b.1950) with Clotilde Ward.In 1958 his full sister Sophia was born and in 1961 his parents divorced; three years later his father married Elizabeth Gwyneth Tighe (b.1933) by whom he had another two children: Nicholas (b.1968) and Amalia (died on 5 February 1970, two days after birth).
This marriage ended in 1976; the same year Prince Yuri married his fourth and last wife Jean Mary Shanks (1926-1999).
Gregory married in London on 1 February 2003 Svetlana Vladimirovna Rutter, née Permyakova (b.1963); he bereft a daughter Maria Catherine, who turned 15 twenty days ago.Unfortunately he was the only one of his father's five living children whose marriege endured; the rest (apart fromSophia who reportedly never married) had at least one divorce (and Catherine even two; what's curious, she was just 26 when she married for the third time.Sources: https://sites.google.com/site/myroya...al-information

Two Saxony sisters - daughters of Friedrich Christian, Prince of Saxony, Duke of Saxony, Margrave of Meissen (1893–1968) [himself second son of Frederick Augustus III, the last King of Saxony in 1904-1918 before the abolition of the monarchy (1965-1932) & his wife Luisa, nee Archduchesss of Austria (1870-1947)] & his wife Elisabeth Helene, nee Princess of Thurn and Taxis (1903-1976) - died this year:

The youngest of their five children, Princess Mathilde of Saxony, Duchess of Saxony, formerly Princess Johannes Heinrich of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha died in Sistrans, Tyrol, Austria on 18 March.

She was born in Bamberg on 17 January 1936.
She married civilly in Munich on 15 October 1968 and religiously in Kloster Andechs on 12 November 1968 (as his second wife) Prince Johannes Heinrich of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (1931-2010) [only child of Prince Rainer of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (1900-1945) & his first wife Johanna Károlyi de Károly-Patty (1906-1992)].
They married soon (the same year) after his divorce from Barones Gabrielle von Furstenberg (1921-2007) after eleven years of marriage, with whom he had a daughter Felizitas (b.1958).
On 17 November 1969 their only child together, Johannes Albert Leopold Friedrich Christian, was born.
On 21 August 1987 a heartbreaking tragedy hit the both; their only son had gone on a climbing expedition on his own, telling his parents that he was headed to on site, but actually heading to a different, and riskier mountain. When Johannes did not return home when expected, his worried parents notified the authorities. Search parties were organized and helicopters were used to scour the region. His lifeless body was spotted from a helicopter, thus bringing the search to a tragic end.
Apparently their love didn't endure, becaouse they divorced six years later; no one of them remarried.

The second of their five children and oldest daughter, Princess Maria Josepha of Saxony,
Duchess of Saxony, died at Bad Wiessee, Upper Bavaria, Germany, on 10 August a month and ten days before her 90th birthday.

She was born in Bad Wörishofen.
She never married but according to Hein Bruins she gave birth in 1956 to an out of wedlock daughter Maria Christina von Sachsen; identity of her father is unknown. She is apparently unmarried and childless.
She is the last of her siblings to pass away; the other three ones Maria Emanuel (b.1926) & Albert (b.1934), both Margraves of Meissen as well as Princess Anna of Saxony (b.1929) Mrs. Roberto de Afif, Princess of Gessaphe - all died in 2012.
Both brothers were married but childless, Whereas Anna had three sons and eight grandchildren, so only one of the siblings to "continue" the line (her oldest son Alexander de Afif was officially adopted and recognized as heir by his childless uncle Maria Emmanuel conferred upon Alexander the legal surname of "Prinz von Sachsen" (Prince of Saxony). Thus was created the family of Saxe-Gessaphe, a cognatic offshoot of the Royal House of Wettin: With the approval of Maria Emanuel, Alexander, his sons and brothers are also known as Princes of Saxe-Gessaphe.

Thus was created the family of Saxe-Gessaphe, a cognatic offshoot of the Royal House of Wettin: With the approval of Maria Emanuel, Alexander, his sons and brothers are also known as Princes of Saxe-Gessaphe.

And here I am thinking on seeing just how many princes and princesses marry "unequally" according to the old rules, that Rüdiger Prince and Duke of Saxony (son of prince Timo) is a living male line descendant of the "old house", so he should be the Head of the House nowadays and not the children of a "prince of Gessaphe" from the orient.

But obviously this Prince of Gessaphe could offer a "pure-blooded" Princess of Saxony a suitable lifestyle, while prince Rüdiger grew up with the common and hard-working parents of prince Timo's commoner wife, so the Gessaphe-children are considered more "noble"... It is so ridiculous and so hypocritical what has happened in that family, that for me, either all are considered "the real thing" or none and in that case, tradition is for the male-line descendant. No matter that Max Emmanuel preferred his sister's kids to the commonly raised Rüdiger.

Renaud Querton died in Etterbeek on 14 August.

He was born in Woluwé-Saint-Lambert on 17 June 1943. He married in Anzegem on 26 March 1971 Countess Philippine Marie Gaëtane Ghislaine of Limburg-Stirum (b. 15 January 1946) [third of five daughters of Count Philippe Evrard of Limburg-Stirum (1910-1997) & his wife Isabelle, nee Countess de Liedekerke (1914-2004)].
Apart from his wife he leaves five children: Monique (b.1972), Thomas (b.1974), Isabelle (b.1979), Sophie (b.1980) & Diane (b.1983) and thirteen grandchildren.
The greatest tragedy which he and his wife experienced was definitely the untimely death of their second daughter Marie-Armandine (twin sister of Thomas) in 2014, who bereft also her husband and four children [her widower is now married again].
His funeral took place today.

Count Everard 's wife is Princess Hélène d' Orléans. He had only one daughter Comtesse Cathérine.
The widower Monsieur Zurstrassen did not marry again.

As for Jose Zurstrassen - I saw a long time ago on Le Carnet Mondain site an announcement of his engagement to some widow with two sons (I don't remember her name).
