According to Reuters,

Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz is expected to visit Russia, the RIA news agency cited Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov as saying on Thursday.

The agency earlier cited a source saying the Saudi King’s trip to Russia is planned for Oct 4-7.

If the visit does happen, King Salman will be the first Saudi monarch to visit the Russian Federation.

The meeting agenda includes the entire range of Russian-Saudi cooperation issues. The leaders will consider joint steps to further develop bilateral cooperation in the trade, economic, investment and cultural-humanitarian areas.

A detailed exchange of views on international issues is expected. Special attention will be paid to the situation in the Middle East and in North Africa, with an emphasis on the settlement of unresolved conflicts in the region.

A number of bilateral documents is planned to be signed following the talks.

Russia and Saudi Arabia look to strengthen ties in a historic visit

King Salman became the first reigning Saudi monarch to visit Russia when he arrived in Moscow last night for a trip analysts said would cover oil production woes, and attempt to align differences over Syria and Iran.
As the leaders of the world's two biggest oil exporters, King Salman and Vladimir Putin are expected to agree to further strengthen measures to stem the drop in the global price of fossil fuels.
Investment deals on a natural gas project and petrochemical plants could also be signed during King Salman's trip and plans for a US$1 billion (Dh3.67bn) fund to invest in energy projects are likely to be finalised, according to Reuters.

MOSCOW: King Salman arrived in Moscow on Wednesday for a historic and unprecedented state visit to Russia, the first by a Saudi monarch in almost a century of diplomatic ties.
The king was greeted at Vnukovo airport by senior Russian officials and a military brass band. He will have talks with the Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday and Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on Friday.

MOSCOW — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques on Thursday held wide-ranging talks with the Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin.

Speaking on the occasion, the King underscored the need for tapping the great opportunities for diversification and expansion of the base for economic cooperation between the two countries.

He also called for creating an appropriate economic, commercial and investment ground that is capable of increasing the better utilization and strengthening of the comparative advantages of the two countries and pushing forward the trade exchange with all its components in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
