Head of State and King of Bahrain
HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa (b 28 January 1950)
Proclaimed Crown Prince 27 June 1964; succeeded his late father Emir Isa bin Salman as HH the Ruling Emir on 6 March 1999;
became HM the King of Bahrain on 14 February 2002 when the State of Bahrain declared itself a Kingdom.
He married his cousin Sheikha Sabika bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa on 9 October 1968.

created an "HRH Prince" by King Hamad, October 2009
Married Sheikha Hala bint Duajj Al Khalifa (d. 2018); children:

Married at Manama, 2nd May 2013, H.H. Shaikha Jawahir bint ‘Abdu’llah bin ‘Isa al-Khalifa, has a son named Sheikh Hamad Bin Isa. He graduated from the American University in Washington DC in 2012.
Sheikh Muhammed(born 11 November 1991)
He was educated at Bahrain School (Class of 2009) & graduated from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in 201. He later went on to graduate from King's College London in 2015. Married, has a son named Sheikh Ahmad Bin Muhammed.

The al-Khalifa family has ruled Bahrain as an absolute monarchy since 1783
King Hamad on 18 june received the credentials of four new ambassadors during a ceremony held at Al-Sakhir Palace.

Is Bahrain still a absolute monarchy?? ? 
2001 - February - Referendum on political reform; Bahrainis overwhelmingly back proposals under which Bahrain would become constitutional monarchy with elected lower chamber of parliament and independent judiciary.
