Prince Filip with Princess Danica in Oplenac"

"Today marks the 50th anniversary of the death of my grandfather, King Peter II. We attended the commemoration that Bishop Jovan of Šumadija served over the grave of my grandfather in the Church of St. George in Oplenac. After the mention, Danica and I laid a wreath and flowers on my grandfather's grave."

:previous: At the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the death of King Peter II in Oplenac take part and the Prince Filip with Princess Danica.

But At the official site of the Serbian Royal House mention :

"On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the passing of HM King Peter II, a memorial service for the late King was officiated by His Grace Bishop Jovan of Sumadija at the Royal Family Mausoleum of St. George in Oplenac.
On behalf of HRH Crown Prince Alexander, wreath was laid on the tomb of the late King by Mr Dragomir Acovic, chairman of the Advisory Bodies of the Crown. Present were also Mr Ljubodrag Grujic member of the Privy Council and Mr Predrag Markovic, member of the Crown Council. Kingdom of Serbia Association also laid a wreath on the tomb of HM King Peter II."

Sad that Nothing mention about Prince Filip  It seems that the tension that Marc23 mention to his older post still exist

Well, it depends on many things...

First, of all sons, Filip is the only one married to a Serbian, came back to live permanently in Serbia(last month) and in a way is connected to Belgrade/Serbia...

Second, it also depends on a relationship between him and his father and stepmother. Privately, relationship has been tensed because of his stepmother who basically controls everything and his sons didn't want to live around, so they went to live abroad.

We could see this tension regarding giving back priceless artworks which belong to the National museum and are displayed in the Palace...His stepmother and her daughter refused to give them back, while Filip and his wife publicly supported the Museum claims, instead of his father's and his stepmother's claims.

Thirdly, when decided to come back to Belgrade Filip asked his (father)stepmother to let him and his wife live in a house at the Compound near the Palaces, but got the answer:"Who are you to ask for such a thing?" The house is now used by Allison Andrews, daughter of Crown Princess Katherine, who now lives there instead of any Karadjordjevic family member. When Princess Elizabeth asked to use just one room there as an office few years back, she was also denied.

Here are few articles in Serbian only. One must use google translate to be able to understand.

https://www.blic.rs/vesti/drustvo/n...-katarine-karadordevic-prisvojila-pet/19gqjex

https://www.blic.rs/vesti/drustvo/a...-dok-ministar-odugovlaci-sa-vracanjem/p15nl3s

https://www.blic.rs/vesti/drustvo/s...vrati-vredne-slike-srpskim-muzejima-a/9lqqhp8

https://www.blic.rs/vesti/drustvo/s...ju-princ-filip-poslao-jasnu-poruku-ne/19yl9qc

Regarding this situation Prince Filip gave the statement to the newspapers :"Paintings you wrote about are in possession of the Republic of Serbia. Things are clear as a day: something which belongs to the dynasty should serve people, and when these paintings are concerned, they belong to the state and it's completely normal and natural for them to be displayed where the state of Serbia determines."

Apart from all this, Crown Princess wanted her children from her previous marriage, David and Allison Andrews to be adopted and become members of the Royal family with the qualification of Royal Highness.

Again, try to read using google translate:

https://www.kurir.rs/vesti/drustvo/...a-decu-iz-prvog-braka-trazi-princevske-titule

One could foresee this based on their website:

https://royalfamily.org/christmas-eve-at-the-royal-palace-3/

If you read carefully the first bolded sentence, you could see that Alison Andrews is described as "their daughter Alison", not "her daughter Alison" in the official royal website, which indicates what they are aiming for. It would be like calling Camilla's daughter Laura Lopes daughter of Prince Charles by the official royal website. And this would not happen.

Things now get a little bit more complicated as this request was denied by the Royal Council and the tensions between the sons of Crown Prince and the family of Crown Princess don't help Serbian Royal Family cause in any way.

So, while she is around nobody of the sons will officially be designated as the next Heir as this would mean that he would be put in the spotlight. Also, the one destined to be next Heir is trained to slowly gain control and automatically decides almost everything in the family and in that situation, she is slowly getting out of the spotlight and would step by step began losing control. This won't happen while she is around and while she still controls everything. :(

Unfortunately,

many things I have said and written here on forum are true. :-(

I know some members of the royal family and have same circle of friends with the younger royals, so one can say that I am informed about some things.

Of course, there are many this I don't know and don't even want to know. :-(

The official website is controlled by the Crown Princess and her stuff.

You can see that, for example, here:

https://royalfamily.org/interview-t...er-alison-the-main-organizer-of-this-project/

"Interview towards a charity auction in London: Their Royal Highnesses and their daughter Alison, THE MAIN ORGANIZER of this project."

While they omit to mention the presence of his son Prince Filip and his wife Princess Danica from some official gatherings, like this in Oplenac mausoleum, in recent years they always mentioned her daughter Alison Andrews as "their daughter" and that she is the main organizer, which indicates many things that have been happening for years. During the past decade, the same thing was happening to other members of the royal family who were/are not on good terms with the Crown Princess.

She just doesn't want anything or anyone around who steals the light from her and her family...that's why she is pushing her family into the limelight.

:previous: But the CP Alexander how accepts this?

Who is the future of the Serbian Monarchy? if is not his chldren!

And Marc23 you know where is the Prince Peter? has not been seen anywhere for a long time

In the meantime Prince Filip continues his visits to the Country:

"Today, we attended the commemoration of the victims of revolutionary terror organized by the association "In the Name of the People ..." and the gathering of support for the civic initiative to build a worthy memorial park to the innocent victims of the communist regime on the devastated King's Fountain in Lisicji potok."

It is very important to the people of their Country, to remember the Victim's of this terror. We shall never forget. So the Royal Family share the memory with them.

Well, Crown Princess controls the money and he depends on her and that's why he is accepting this. He loves his sons, as I think he also loves his stepchildren, but he is just powerless against her and doesn't have the strength nor the will to go deep into these things and he let's her do what she wants. It's obviously easier for him.

There was an idea and at one point all his sons were summoned to live in Belgrade. But, they couldn't stand the relationship with their stepmother and it was easier for them to leave the country than to argue, so they have chosen to step out of the way.

Don't know anything in particular about Prince Peter, except that he lives in London.

I think that people around Crown Prince who are for the monarchy are now supporting Prince Filip (some secretly, some openly) and putting him into the limelight, like preparing him for "something", as he is the only one of Alexander's sons who is living in Serbia, is married to a Serbian girl and has a son, which is here very important for the future of the monarchy...which is perfect for the public image as the Serbian royals are often described as being "not Serbian enough" or at least not trying to be...Like, for example, that they speak the language very badly, despite the fact that they returned to the country 20 years ago.

Only Princess Elizabeth learned the language properly and decently, despite the fact that she also didn't speak a word of it at the beginning. She is very popular among people and most recognizable as she is a very grand lady with very down to earth attitude at the same time. This kind of popularity was the reason for the dislike between the Crown Princess and Princess Elizabeth. Wherever she goes, "Elizabeth steals the show" and Catherine doesn't stand this.

That's why she is desperately trying to put her family in front and trying to make them more recognizable, hoping for a miracle that just won't happen, as after all the scandals and rumors about royal family Serbia just doesn't care about them. They are just not interested in royalty in general.

I like to see how Prince Filip respects his ancestors and everything related to his Royal House and his country.
It's a pity that his brothers don't show up.

Princess Danica looks old at this photo :(

Princess Danica looks old at this photo :(
Princess Danica looks like any normal 35-year old mother of one if having to wear a scarf in close to 40°C to me. I find both her and Prince Filip quite attractive.
They both seem very devoted to the Serbian royal legacy and are, in my opinion, as it stands now the future of the Royal family in the country.
