Princess Maria is the youngest daughter of the King, 53 years now, divorced and without issue. She is the very last in the michaelist line of succession and bypassing her sisters and her nieces will make no sense.
Princess Maria has increased her public role in Romania, assisting her eldest sister. That is all.

The plans of the Royal Family for the Easter
"Crown Princess Margareta and Prince Radu will take part in the holy service of the Resurrection, Saturday, April 15, 2017, at midnight, at the Metropolitan Cathedral in Cluj. Their Royal Highnesses will be guests of His Beatitude Metropolitan Andrei.
Crown Princess Margareta and Prince Radu will participate Sunday, April 16th, 2017, a part of the job on the first day of Easter, the Greek-Catholic Cathedral in Cluj-Napoca, where they will meet with His Grace Bishop Florentin and parishioners present at the grand celebration.
Princess Maria will celebrate the Resurrection at the Archdiocesan Cathedral of Ramnicu Valcea and will be the guest of His Beatitude Archbishop Varsanufie.
His Majesty the King will remain private residence in Switzerland during the Easter holidays. King Mihai I will receive a visit from Father Adrian Diaconu, Switzerland dean for the Romanian Orthodox Church."

Today in Bucharest, Messrs. Dragnea and Popescu Tăriceanu, Presidents of the Chamber of Deputies and Senate, respectively, have finally submitted to Parliament the legislation that would give concrete status to the Royal House in Romanian society. The bill would give the Head of the Romanian Royal House, as determined by the new House Law of 2007, the position of a former head of state. This law was originally proposed in Summer of 2016 before the death of Queen Anne.

Sorry to say the link did not work for me. Could it be that for some unknown reason that the crown princess is making sure everyone knows who is in charge and the the presence of the royal family is out there for all to see?

On the contrary, I'd say that the presence of all four princesses - and their spouses in the case of the married ones - is a heartening statement that the Royal House is not at all as divided as certain journalists would have us believe. Irina's absence is understandable. Does anyone know if she can now travel freely again and has been able to be with her Father and sisters in Switzerland? I hope so.

The venue was impressive. What is "the Royal Palace"? It did not look it was at Elisabeta Palace.
