Nicolae is asked how he feels now?
Very good. Honestly, we can't find words to describe how we feel, but it's a great joy and we can't believe what a miracle we have around us. A baby with her special character. It's just wonderful. It is such a great joy that it cannot be summed up in words. God has given us a gift. I must say that I am very proud of my wife for everything she has done and I already see what a good mother she is.

The little girl's godparents congratulated us first. And my family, my mother, my sister. My mother called me and I talked to her on the phone for a long time. Jean d'Orléans congratulated us from France. I also received congratulations from Prince Leka of Albania.
About the name Nicolae says that they wanted to have names they like. They both made a list and the names Alexandra and Maria appeared on both lists. It was in a way a special coincidence that Maria was the queen of Romania. His wife's name is Alina-Maria. Nicolae's aunt also has the first name Maria. They really like this first name. I don't think that there's anyone following the Romanian threads that aren't aware of the complex and at times chaotic relationships between the members of the Royal family. Especially Duc who's been a frequent poster in said threads for a long time.

I dont see that any of them need anything from anybody. I dont think there's a prayer of a restoration so they might all be better to just give up titles and all that stuff and lead normal private lives...

Yes, it would be wonderful to see a picture of little Maria-Alexandra. Hopefully soon. Which leads me to say I don't believe we have actually seen Princess Geraldine of Albania other than a little bundle in the arms of her mother Princess Elia. We were so spoiled by the Luxembourg's little cutie Prince Charles.

However the dynamics work out regarding the rifts in the families, it was lovely to see Nicholas reach out to his mother on her birthday and also Princess Elena earlier acknowledge her new granddaughter. I honestly don't understand the deep divides within these family members despite having followed them for the past ten or so years. I will say that for me on TRF when I note that a poster has 10,000+ or more posts and qualifies as a Majesty or an Imperial Majesty their expertise in royal matters often carries some clout. Anyway, let's hope to see some babies soon!
