Nr 7 - can you imagine Birgitta as Queen of Romania lol. I'd foresee some wild times in the Elisabeta palace with golf balls everywhere lol

Of course they aren't. But I'm pretty sure that JR76 meant Queen consort of Romania...

Yes, I meant as Queen consort. In Swedish we don't differentiate between the title of Queen and that of Queen consort... besides I wasn't being that serious you know 😉

Princess Maria was in Alba Iulia at the anniversary of 1922 coronation. She visited only the Orthodox Cathedral forgetting probably the role of the Romanian Greek-Catholic Church in the history of the country.

It is really a pity Princess Maria did not find time to visit also the greek-catholic churches of Alba Iulia but only the orthodox cathedral.

It is very important HRH Princess Maria is more and more present in public activities in the country.

It is rather strange Princess Elena and Sofia do not attend the events dedicated to their father's Birthday in Bucharest these days.

Princess Maria starts as a patron of Patrula de Reciclare recycling and national environmental education program. She was named as the patron on 13th October.

On 29th May former prince Nicolae was named as the patron of Patrula de Reciclare.

On 16th October Princess Maria met pupils who are using and learning the Patrula de Reciclare recycling and national environmental education program. She met the "veterans", students in 6th grade who have already participated in three editions of the program, and the "new recruits" in first grade, who are preparing to start work to promote responsible waste.

They were probably not invited by Elisabeta Palace.

It would not be surprising.

Why would the residents of Elisabeta Palace wish for the other Princesses to be present?

Why would they be there, because their father isn't there? The events are "normal" representation of the Royal House, although they are due to the King's birthday. The others sisters except Maria hardly ever attend at the official events of the Royal House.

Is it just me, or does Princess Maria look so much like the Crown Princess Margareta in some pictures that it's almost uncanny?

On a sidenote, regardless of her place in the line of succession and lack of children, it is far more important that Princess Maria is more and more visible in Romanian news and voluntary life these days, as a representative of the dynasty that once again plays a part in Romania, albeit not on the level we would wish for it just yet. She seems a graceful woman to me, who can help strengthen the image of the Romanian RF, and assist her elder sister, both practically, but perhaps more importantly, emotionally, so the whole burden of the future of the dynasty does not weigh on one persons shoulders.

Imagine not there this time Maria; Given that Margareta is not as visible as the husband of the presence of Maria is very important as ever.

So, having tried to imply conflict between the grandchildren of Queen Maria, you're now turning your attention to the daughters of the King once again.
Last time it was about who visited (and didn't visit) the King and Queen in Switzerland. Now it's about who is going to Romania.

Frankly, if some of the King's daughters don't go to Romania, it makes them no different from the other Hohenzollern-Sigmaringens, none of whom, it would seem, visit Romania very often.

I was not speaking about any conflict. Princess Elena is the second daughter of the King but has not visited the country lately. That's a fact.

Her only son was just recently unceremoniously ejected from the Royal House.

Why on God's green earth does one think that Princess Helen would be keen on being in the same room with the people who were responsible for it?

To be fair: Princess Elena was also invisible when her own son got a more and more prominent role in the Royal House. One would easily forget that not Margareta but she was Nicholas' mother and standing higher in the michaelist line of succession. So you can hint about the Princess not being seen anymore because of her son's removal but she simply has been practically invisible for years anyway.

It makes no sense that Princess Maria "does more". It would make sense when Princess Elena, Karina Medforth-Mills, Princess Sophie or Elisabeth Biarneix do more. All these ladies come before Princess Maria in the michaelist line of succession and when all these ladies are bypassed in the end Princess Maria herself has no issue, so ultimately it will lead to nothing anyway.
