It is remarkable indeed that the King and Queen do not live at Savarsin, Pelisor or Elisabeta.

Probably they live in Aubonne because that is what the Elisabeta Palace staff decided.

When you say the staff can become a little more enlightening?

The King is the employer of that staff... since when is an employer told what to do and what not to do by the employees he pays????

He is probably referring to the current occupants of Elisabeta Palace.

His own daughter Princess Margareta and her husband Radu blocking the former King taking up residence in Elisabeta Palace? What about keeping the King away from Pelișor or Peleș, or from Săvārșin? And what would the Royal House gain by keeping King Michael in Switzerland?

If we believe that then and the decision taken on 10 august it is likely from the Margareta and Radu.

They can do nothing without the approval of the King.

The King is old and frail but he is living outside Romania since the fall of the Communist regime 25 years ago. I can not imagine that in all these 25 years, when the King was more firm and healthy, Princess Margareta and Radu were the ones to keep him in Switzerland. It has always been his decision.

And, besides that, they have been living in Switzerland for many decades, even before the fall of the communist regime in Romania.

Yes, but what signal is that? "Oh, Romania, my former kingdom, is a free country... Okay, we stay here in Switzerland..."

Well, after all it was the very same free country that in eight year from 1989 to 1997 allowed him to visit the country only two times and for a very limited periods and that only in 1997 restored him his citizenship and allowed him so stay.
Not exactly nice welcome signals too...

Maybe he wanted the people to know and focus on Margarita. Just a thought.

Very nice interview with the Prince of Wales concerning his thoughts on his cousin, King Michael:

With the decision of the beginning of August King Michael practically closed his chances to ever become King of Romania again.

Queen Anne has been ill for some years.
Hopefully as many of her children and grandchildren are able to visit.
The fact that three of the five Princesses have been in Switzerland in the last three weeks is perhaps telling.

We have to pray more for the Queen's health.
We'd better pray more for the Queen whose health is not really at the best level
Certainly prayers always help.
The 25th of October is also the Feast of the Romanian Army because the city of Carei was freed by the Royal Army on this day as an homage to the Sovereign.
We have to pray for the Queen these days.
