Well, I think since the groom is still quite young and about seven years Diana´s junior they may have been asked by Diana´s family to prove their relationship very seriously before marrying. After all those obvious bad experiences of Diana with partnership they might try to avoid another wrong decision....(what I fear will happen again...:whistling: )
What else I wonder: Do Bjoern and Sandra still have no children? They are married for some years after all by now.
 
Catharina & Romuald Ruffing don't have children either, AFAIK.

Prince Lennart 2 or 3 Children from his first Wedding with Karin N. are not involved i Mainau.
Only the 5 Children of his second wedding and Countess Bettina is the Boss ?

Count Lennart Bernadotte and countess Sonja Bernadotte put the entire Mainau under the umbrella of a foundation in 1974. I have read from somewhere that they did it to avoid inheritance disputes with the children from Lennart's first marriage. The foundation’s goals include promoting science research, conservation of the countryside and protection of the environment, historic buildings and monuments and local habitats. The business was renamed the Blumeninsel Mainau GmbH in 1991, the sole shareholder is the Lennart Bernadotte Foundation.
Bettina and Björn Bernadotte are both managing directors of Mainau GmbH. Björn Bernadotte is also the managing director of the Lennart-Bernadotte-Foundation. Bettina Bernadotte is the president of the Council for the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings arranged in Mainau. Björn's wife Sandra is responsible for the events and dinners organized in Mainau. Björn and Sandra founded in 2010 of Sandra's initiative Café Vergissmeinnicht to Mainau. Diana Bernadotte has her hat studio at the Mainau Castle. Catherina Ruffing Bernadotte is a board member of the Lennart Bernadotte Foundation. Her husband Romuald Ruffing lost his job as a financial expert in Mainau in 2008. Wolfgang Christian Bernadotte has been active in the island administration, I don't know if he still is.

Countess Marianne Bernadotte attended on Thursday evening at the Caritas Italiana charity evening at the Italian Embassy in Stockholm. Caritas Italiana is a pastoral organisation of the Italian Bishop’s Conference. It connects 220 diocesan Caritas, committed in their daily activities to support the most vulnerable people. Caritas Italiana is engaged in many areas including: peace, old and new forms of poverty, volunteering, civil service, immigration, mental health and homelessness. Caritas Italiana works as part of the Church to raise awareness on issues around charity, care for those in need and promote the importance of concrete actions for the poor.

Countess Marianne Bernadotte is a well-known philanthropist, she is involved in at least The Marianne Bernadotte Scholarship Fund for Prominent Dyslexia Research and Education, The Bernadotte Foundation for Children’s Eyecare and The Marianne & Sigvard Bernadotte Arts Fund.

She is also a member of Stadsbrudskåren, which consists of some 25 interesting women and was founded in 1965. It's purpose is to raise funds which are then donated to support vulnerable women and children in Stockholm. Over the years the money has come in through a variety of channels. Own concerts, the members worked on major events and auctions in which both their artwork but also their services have been available for sale are some examples.

Dr.-Ing. Gesa Geißler was awarded with the Lennart Bernadotte Prize for Landscape Management. Elisa Ueckert and Christine Gack from Dresden won the Sonja Bernadotte Medal for garden culture for their joint thesis.

Countess Sandra Bernadotte delivered the diploms at the 29th International Mainau Youth Games. The Lennart Bernadotte Foundation has since 1986 organized the Youth Games. 16 schools from Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Austria, Liechtenstein and Switzerland took part. They had to go a course with a total of ten stations. The first task was a musical performance "Mainau May music" on theme "Journey through Europe".
At the other stations they had to solve tasks about nature and the environment in the areas of water, forest, animals and garden.

An absolutely great documentary about count Lennart Bernadotte and his families has been shown on ARD last December. Count Lennart tells about his grandparents, his parents, his life, there is a lot of old film material. His children continue his work: Catherina, Bettina, Björn, Diana and Björn's wife Sandra are interviewed. Also Lennart's children from his first marriage, Birgitta and Jan are interviewed. Birgitta and Björn visit the house their grandparents lived in Stockholm, they visit the Royal Palace and see once again the lovely boat where Lennart, Sonja and their children spend some time in Sweden during the summers. Birgitta was often with them.

Countess Diana Bernadotte was interviewed on 6th May at ARD about her hats. She presents her new collection at the "Gräflichen Inselfest" on 14th - 17th May at the Mainau Castle.

So half-siblings have to have a strong bond between each other, despite enormous age differences (Birgitta could have been a grandmother to Diana)
 
That is a very interesting documentary on Count Lennart and his family. I used to have no idea about the extent of his work on films, that he had actually won an Oscar, his photography, or that he had started out on the Mainau as a farmer, with 30 cows and 2 horses. He tells how the island had been open for visitors and after a while the visitors asked if there were postcards to buy. So they started selling postcards. Slowly the island as a tourist destination developed, first a cafe, later a real restaurant, and then they started to turn the island into a park.

Coutess Birgitta stated that she and Countess Sonja got along very well from the beginning.
 
A lovely short documentary of the spring of the Mainau Island. Bettina, Björn, Sandra and Diana Bernadotte are interviewed. During the Comital Island Party countess Diana always has a fashion show of her new hat collection and Bettina, Björn, Sandra, Diana's fiancé and Diana's daughter help Diana and act as models.

Svensk Damtidning tells about count Björn Bernadotte's 40th birthday, which is tomorrow, 13th June. Björn's wife Sandra and sister Bettina have planned a program with lot of events to celebrate the birthday in the Mainau Island. The program includes walking at the garden, skeet shooting, boat trips, tours at the city and a ball at the Castle. The celebration continues until the last weekend of June and relatives from Bernadotte and Romanoff families are thought to attend.

Perhaps Björn's family celebrates his birthday on Sunday, because Bettina, her husband and son are invited to Carl Philip's wedding.

Interesting that Bettina and her family seems to be the only from Count Lennarts family who are invited.

I don't know. Björns birthday is today so maybe he has been invited but said no. As far as i understand it is Bettina and Björn who are closest to the Swedish royal family.
 
According to Svensk Damtidning, Bettina's and Philipp's son Emil is Carl Philip's godson. Emil (born in July 2005) is also at the guest list. So that may be the reason why they are invited.
Both Bettina and Björn attended at Victoria's wedding. Neither of them attended at Madeleine's wedding, so they probably weren't invited.
