yet another double standard compared to the other royal fiancees.

Sofia looks out of place by not being able to fully follow dress code, the dress & bush up bust scream look at me while Kate Middleton hair is too casual for the event.

What is the point doing this exception but not lending her a tiara to even give her the opportunity to dress to occasion.

I think Sofia looked great and I'm sure Prince Carl Philip and the family thought so too. She may look out of place to some people but she knows that on the day of her wedding she will be officially in the royal club.

That is actual not true, I know it is written in Swedish news papers too. Prince Daniel attented an official dinner on March 12, 2009.
 
Daniel attended at the official dinner on March 2009, they had got engaged in February 2009.

I haven't seen told in swedish press that Sofia would be the first to get to the official dinner. Today's Expressen writes again that she was the first who was invited to the opening of the parliament.

she might have been the first to attend, but I'm sure Daniel would have been there had he not been ill. It's a little bit unfair to compare the two fiancees as Daniel spent much of the year sick.

Match? Do you mean it was cruel because she didn't have had a killer updo and a tiara plus family Orders? Not happening because she is still a commoner. Personally I would have loved to see her with at least a killer updo which would have looked very elegant instead of her flopsy, mopsy sausage curls a la Catherine.

However, Daniel ididn't wear any Orders when he attended one such dinner in March 2009 for the simple reason that marriage to a member of the SRF is a prerequisite for them and both Sofia and Daniel were merely fiances.

It seems the media wants to stir things up a bit. King CG has definitely been more free with his son than either of his daughters but not in this case it seems.
 
I agree in that she should've worn her hair up and maybe some ornaments in the hair to add some sparkle.

Yes, SVT started to promote their traditional "Året med kungafamiljen" (The Year with the Royal Family) program. It will be shown on 6th January at 20.00 on SVT1 and SVT play.
I'm sure they will release a few short video clips before the program will be aired, they did it in previous years.
 
Oh, that's just too much cuteness to handle! The photo of Estelle giving Leonore the flower is hands down my favourite photo of them from this year. Children/toddlers with babies are one of my main weaknesses. I love Estelle's personality too, and the way Victoria and Daniel dress her. It's like old fashioned but with a sense of 'moderness' at the same time. I also like how close knit the SRF seem to be, even if Madeleine, Chris and Leonore live on the other side of the world.

I can't wait for this year's programme as it will include little Leonore, too. I was actually in Sweden when it was aired last year, so was able to watch it on TV in the RF's country. I couldn't understand it though, but it was still wonderful to see the clips and photos.

The king and Carl Philip were some time ago at their traditional yearly hunting trip. The king has quite a few people at his hunting group. Daniel's father Olle Westling was also with them.
The king and Carl Philip are the most eager hunters of the family, but also Victoria, Daniel and Madeleine have hunting license. Queen Silvia doesn't hunt and Chris O'Neill doesn't have the swedish hunting license.
The king gave an interview to ATL, the article has also photos.

Daniel's father has been along with the king's hunting trips before. I have never read that Victoria has actually hunted, she just has a license.

They met the government at the cabinet briefing held normally four times a year. King Carl Gustaf, queen Silvia, princess Margaretha and princess Christina with Tord Magnuson attended on 30th November at the 80th birthday of Signe von der Esch at the Nootska Palace. Princess Christina isn't at these photos but Svensk Damtidning wrote last week that she and Tord attended too. Princess Margaretha and Signe von der Esch are childhood friends. Countess Marianne Bernadotte attended too.
