The article says that on the night to Victoria’s birthday, the alarm went off at Solliden. The Royal Family had gone to bed hours ago, and it was at two in the night that the alarm went off. Two men had managed to get to the boathouse by using the seaway. Several police units and tracker dogs were immediately sent there, and the radio communications were hot. The intruders were arrested immediately. This is Expressen’s story.

What they get confirmed is this:
The police in Kalmar confirms that the alarm was set off
ETW says that no persons have been arrested at Solliden.

From Expressen.

This article touches the subject of security, again. The Royal Family is more protected than ever, 12 security guards protect the family’s every movement 24/7. The King, Queen and Crown Princess have always had personal protection by security guards (for them its mandatory), but after the murder of Anna Lindh, the Crown Princess’ protection were even more tightened. Since some time now, also Princess Madeleine has constant personal protection. Today, it’s only Prince Carl Philip who can move around at Solliden without personal protection – a place were the royals have always before been the most free.

that's unfortunate that the royals now see body guards whichever way they turn.

It's unfortunate, but necessary for the world we live in today...

Australia/Sweden

Hi from Australia!
I am very interested in the Swedish royal family. I think they are very down to earth and with the times.
I would love to visit Sweden one day. Im obsessed :)
What does the Swedish think of Australia?

When will they visit Australia

Have the Swedish royals visited Australia? if not, when

There has been one State Visit to Australia from Sweden:
26 March to 6 April 1982 by The King to Governor General Sir Zelman Cowen
(from the Royal Court's website)

It doesn't seem a lot, so I hope we will see a State Visit to Australia and then one from Australia to Sweden in the near future! :)

Their Majesties came to Sydney in 2000 for the Olympics and the king has been here (Australia) a few times for some scouting organisation or something like that

Yes, but those were UNOFFICIAL visits! What we (at least I) would like to see is a State Visit with all the glitter and formality that goes with it! :D

As this article ( http://www.thelocal.se/article.php?ID=368&date=20040907&PHPSESSID=991d03e59bd0cae0809d2fe77ca6a8f9 ) is about a few members of the RF I´ve decided to post it here:

"False King" upsets palace

An impersonator who specialises in imitating King Carl Gustav has incurred the royal disapproval after a photograph of him - as the king - was used in an advertisement for a golf club.

Tuesday's Expressen reported that Jan Wolfhagen - whose repertoire encompasses the likes of Per Gessle and Robert Wells - received a letter from Christer Lignell, the king's private secretary, pointing out that it is illegal to use a picture of someone in an advertisement without their permission.

"But it's not the king in the picture," Wolfhagen pointed out to Expressen. "It's me."

No doubt the media lawyers among readers have already left to offer their services to Wolfhagen, but he seems to be a man who knows his rights.

"Yeah, it's funny that the king got in touch with me, but I'm not planning to stop imitating royalty," he said. "I know that there's nothing to stop you imitating people."

The king himself is on a state visit to Iceland at the moment with the Queen and Crown Princess Victoria. While they braved Tuesday's rain and wind in Reykjavik, the press sensibly stayed at home and concentrated on the demise of Princess Madeleine's summer.

It's over two weeks since the press quietly reported on the end of Victoria´s summer. This week it was her younger sister's turn to hang up her boogie boots and buckle down for the autumn.

"Madde's wild party-life is over," declared Aftonbladet, rather oddly deeming the story worthy of the front cover.

"Now she's going to focus on a 20-point course in Ethnology at Stockholm University," the paper said, quoting a mysterious 'friend'.

The same 'friend' announced, rather recklessly, "Madde's had an amazing summer!" which, the paper reminded its readers, largely consisted of partying, shopping and trotting about.

It all started with a couple of weeks in Stockholm, just hanging out, before the princess zipped off to Öland to celebrate Victoria's birthday. Unfortunately Madde didn't get any time to chill at Solliden "because of all the foreign press photographers who bugged her, hovering about her home."

So seeking peace and tranquility, Madde and reported boyfriend Jonas Bergström decided to give that isolated, little-known French retreat, St. Tropez, a try. But then we already know that because we saw the photos at the time in, erm, Aftonbladet.

Anyway, Madde loved it there and busied herself with parties, friends and buying "expensive designer gear in the boutiques". She even amanged to squeeze in an evening at the same club as those wild fortysomethings Johnny Depp and Uma Thurman - which no doubt made a change from Robinson-Emma et al.

Alas, Aftonbladet lamented, "the wild nights with Hollywood superstars are over" for Madeleiene this summer. Now it's back to the classroom, homework and essays.

So what about young Prince Carl Philip? When will his summer be over? Watch this space - sometime in early October.

How often does the RF take official photos?

Thanks for the update Grand Duchess. Does anyone know why Princess Madeleine won't be attending the opening of Parliament? thanks.:)

My guess is that she has to be at the university that day, probably at a lecture or some group work or discussion...

There are no set times for this, but it occurs every now and then. There is one day per year when they do tend to take official group photos, and that's on The Kings birthday.

Victoria has no official duties after her appearance at the paralympics (she will stay there until Tuesday) I wonder, if she will stay in Greece (maybe with Daniel), or if her university-course is just not mentioned in the calendar, or if she will do anything else.

I am working on the trf calander and i need to know what days are flag days in connection with the royal family

anything that are celebrated officily
natinal day name days and so
do you got other dates that should go in the calander (dates that are the same every year) just post them and i will put them in the calander

What about the 15th of September?
Daniel Westling´s birthday celebrated officially...hmm, I like the idea ;) :p (ETW: "We´ve decided that this day a parade will take place for a member of the Royal household, who isn´t officially a member, but who is for the crown princess as important as tanning-lotion for princess Madeleine"

Of course I know what else happened on the 15 th of September 1973 (ETW celebrated her 23th birthday...and the king of Sweden became king of Sweden ;) )

Queen Silvia and cp Victoria opened 2 exhibitions in Athens: Design for everybody und Fun for challenged kids

Baroness Tina de Geer af Finspång, daughter of Princess Désirée Baroness Silfverschiöld, gave birth to her third child on 16 September. Congratulations to her and her husband - and to grandmother Désirée!
