Prince Daniel returns to where it all began - his old school in Ockelbo.
On Tuesday, 16th February Daniel returns home to Ockelbo to the inauguration of Perslundaskolan school. Last school year 2014-2015, the school has been closed for an extensive renovation of over 100 million and now just in time for the spring semester students move back in.
- Yes, we sent for a good while ago an official request and invitation for Prince Daniel, says Magnus Jonsson, municipal commissioner of Ockelbo.
Daniel will come without his family. Victoria and Estelle stay home at Haga Palace.
- We are very pleased and grateful that Daniel comes home and inaugurates our new school, continues Jonsson.
It may well be that Daniel's parents Ewa and Olle Westling attend at the inauguration, and most of the retired teachers who remain in the municipality will probably show up at the opening ceremony, says Jonsson.
When Daniel had started dating Victoria, he gave the first long interview to Perslundaskolan's school newspaper. He talked about his interest in sports:
- One lived almost at the rink when one was smaller. There is a nostalgic feeling when one, as an adult, returns to his childhood hockey arena, said Daniel.
When Daniel and Victoria made their first official trip to Ockelbo, they visited Perslundaskolan.
- It feels absolutely wonderful, Daniel answered then on how it was to be back in his old school.
Daniel told to the school newspaper of feelings about coming home:
- To come home to Ockelbo is like recharging the batteries. I think there is a special Ockelbo spirit that is based on being genuine and caring about each other. To set up for each other. It is self-evident.

Daniel visited on Wednesday afternoon the School of Computer Science and communication at the Royal Institute of Technology.

This morning he had a meeting with Mia Brunell Livfors, ceo and president of Axel Johnson AB. She is one of the experts in Prince Daniel's Fellowship Entrepreneurial Programme.

Later today he met Natalia Brzezinski, the ceo of Symposium Stockholm. Daniel spoke last June at Brilliant Minds Conference at Symposium Stockholm.

The School of Computer Science and communication at the Royal Institute of Technology tells on their website about Daniel's visit there on Wednesday.
The visit took place in the robotics lab where the prince was given a presentation by Danica Kragic, Mårten Björkman and Patric Jensfelt.
Some of the topics that were discussed during the visit were – what is happening within this field at KTH and in the rest of the world? What are the future trends and the possibilities for product development? How to cope with the ethical dilemmas that arise when robots become more and more autonomous? The prince was an eager listener and took some notes.

Daniel had today two meetings at the Royal Palace.

First he met professor Mai-Lis Hellénius from the Unit of Medicine at Karolinska Institutet.
Professor Hellénius is doing a scientific assessment of the work of the En Frisk Generation Foundation. Daniel is the co-founder and patron of En Frisk Generation. The Foundation was founded on the idea of that good eating habits and physical activity are essential for good health. Professor Hellénius and her assistant evaluate if the participants of the activity of En Frisk Generation feel better and become more active after participating at the activity En Frisk Generation organizes. The evaluation started last autumn and lasts four years. Professor Hellénius and Daniel both speak at the film made of the work of En Frisk Generation. Professor Hellénius is also a member of the Expert Council of the Crown Princess Couple’s Foundation.

Later today Daniel met Eric Wahlforss, founder and chief technical officer at SoundCloud, and Sofie Quidenus, CEO & Founder at Qidenus Technologies.

The court about Daniel at the delivery of the Nordic Medical Prizes:
The chairman of the Nordic Medical Prize Björn Rydevik welcomed everyone and Prince Daniel delivered the Nordic Medical Prizes to:
Professor Lars Engebretsen from the University of Oslo and professor Roald Bahr from the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences, professor Jon Karlsson from the University of Gothenburg and professor Michael Kajær from the University of Copenhagen.
The justification for the 2015 year's recipients were "for their internationally leading research which has created scientifically based knowledge about the importance of physical activity for health, and science-based measures regarding the prevention and treatment of sports injuries."
Each prize winner held a lecture after the prize ceremony.

About the delivery of the Nordic Medical Prize:
Healthcare is one of the main interests of HRH Prince Daniel, who held a spontaneous speech about the importance of physical activity in disease prevention.
Professor Jón Karlsson, one of the recipients of the Nordic Medical Prize about Daniel's speech:
- He was well versed in the topic and gave a good impression.
During the two-hour ceremony all the prize winners gave lectures about what they worked with over the years.
- It was a solemn event with very a good atmosphere. After the presentations from the Laureates Prince Daniel gave several nice comments which strengthened the impression of the lectures, says Professor Björn Rydevik, president of the Foundation for the Nordic Medical Prize.

On Monday morning Daniel visited Lexington's headquarters in Stockholm. He was given a presentation of the company and then a showing of their office and showroom. Lexington was founded in 1997 and is a Swedish company that designs, develops and sells products for home furnishing and clothing.
During the visit Daniel met also Kristina Lindhe, the founder and ceo of Lexington Company. Kristina Lindhe is one of the experts at Prince Daniel's Fellowship entrepreneurial programme.

Daniel is impressed by the Järfälla youngsters.
- The students had a great ambition and desire. It was great to come here, he says.

Daniel attended on Monday at a meeting of the steering group for Prince Daniel's Fellowship and its entrepreneurial programme.
The steering group consists of Marcus Wallenberg (chairman), Daniel (honorary chairman), Marshal of the Court Karolin A. Johansson, Carl Bennet, Johan Skarborg and Johan Weigelt (Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences).

On Tuesday the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences has one of it's annual gatherings. In the evening the Academy organizes a seminar "Vägar till ökat entreprenörskap" (Ways to increased entrepreneurship).
How do we best stimulate young people's interest in entrepreneurship? What is required for innovative companies to grow large? The questions are the starting point for the seminar to be held when Prince Daniel is welcomed as an honorary member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences.
Prince Daniel Fellowship and Entrepreneurial programme makes recognised visits to schools and universities to inspire entrepreneurship. A mentoring program targeted at young entrepreneurs is another part of the project. How has the response been so far? What are the future plans? Prince Daniel gives the answers.
The seminar is held in conjunction with the Academy Gathering and is started by the Chairman of the Academy, Leif Johansson.

At the gathering today Daniel is officially welcomed as the Honorary Member of the Academy and he is given the badge of honor. The Academy told in December at a press release about Daniel elected as a Honorary Member.
The Academy can have maximum 15 honorary members. Now the Academy has 7 honorary members, the other honorary members are Sten Gustafsson, Gunnar Hambraeus, Sven Olving, Hans Rausing, Lena Treschow Torell and Arne Wittlöv.

From the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences seminar "Vägar till ökat entreprenörskap" (Ways to increased entrepreneurship).

In the beginning Leif Johansson, the chairman of the Academy, asked Daniel to say some words about Prince Daniel's Fellowship and after that he gave Daniel the badge of honor of him being appointed as a honorary member. After Leif Johansson's speech Daniel was interviewed about Prince Daniel's Fellowship, what he had in mind when he got the initiative to the program.
Daniel spoke about the school visits, the Prince Daniel's Fellowship Mentor Program (there are some new ideas at the Program) and the Entrepreneurial Day.
Jan Westberg, the moderator from the Academy praised very much the Prince Daniel Entrepreneurial Day, it has been organized two times and succeeded very well, it is a great event. Westberg said that after the Day there is a dinner and Daniel is always the last to leave. Everybody laughed. Daniel said that he is the last to leave because he really wants to meet and talk with every entrepreneur and he can't leave before the entrepreneurs, his guests, leave.
Daniel was very good while being interviewed. He is a very good speaker, passionate on his Fellowship program and has a lot to say. He is also funny and gets easily people to listen to him. After the seminar there is a dinner. Jan Westberg said that people can make more questions to Daniel at the dinner.

In the end of the seminar Björn O. Nilsson, the ceo of the Academy, told how when planning the Prince Daniel Fellowship entrepreneurial programme they had many good meetings at the Adademy's premises and at the Royal Palace. And that Daniel had so much ideas in his computer, PowerPoints and others. Nilsson thinks that the ideas are enough to encourage entrepreneurship in Sweden for hundred years. Nilsson said also that Sweden has had and has a motor prince and also an entrepreneurship prince.

Prince Daniel encourages young people to dare to invest and be entrepreneurs. Cosmopolitan was invited when the Prince took part in the Royal Academy of Engineering Sciences seminar and we were impressed, to say the least ..!
We at Cosmo had the honor to personally meet the Prince. What the prince said, was very worth considering and something we should all take to heart:
- This collaboration with the Academy aims to that all young people shall be able to start businesses. Keep away the Law of Jante and bet! We must have the courage to have an impact on culture, because that is something that we don't directly have in Sweden. We are often anxious if we compare with other countries. We want to encourage to study further, but also dare to start a business, too few in Sweden take that step. We have gotten better at it, but we can do more than that!
The prince also took up some Swedish public figures who have become motivators:
- Today Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a great source of inspiration to many children and young people, and before that were Björn Borg and Ingemar Stenmark.
And of course the Prince is right. It is so important that today we have role models to look up to, and see that nothing is impossible if you just choose to believe in yourself, your dream or your ideas. And the prince surely had a good tip for anyone who wants to invest in anything in life:
- Stop focusing on the idea, just do!
We at Cosmo let this be the final word and hope that all of you are willing to invest, and perhaps Prince Daniel's words inspire you to this - something which at least he did with us! Hey, we surely have a motivating, competent and enthusiastic Prince! A lot of praise to the prince who dares to make us all believe in ourselves, and "just do". Cheer!

Daniel visits today Lärvux in Gävle, it is a education for adults with development disorder or brain damage. Daniel speaks about motion and health. It has been a theme at the school and one student got the idea to invite Daniel there.

Later today Daniel inaugurates the renovation and new building of his old school Perslundaskolan in Ockelbo. At 16.30 Daniel gets a guided tour at the school, at 17.00 there is a open school and at 18.00 Daniel inaugurates the school at the courtyard.

At Lärvux Daniel met his friend Bosse Stark. It was Bosse who got the idea to invite Daniel to Lärwux. Bosse works for Ockelbo municipality and will be filming Daniel inaugurating the school in Ockelbo.

Daniel inaugurated Perslundaskolan in Ockelbo. Daniel said that Estelle has it much more easier to concentrate than he has. Daniel told also that he never got detention at school. "Yes, it is amazing of course be back. I am particularly pleased to see how incredible the school has become after the renovation"

Daniel gave a moving speech, where he spoke about his time at that school. He said that "here one can learn that your own effort makes the difference and that hard work gives good results, like normally in life". Daniel said also that he remembers best how it was to be a part of a group of good friends. He didn't know it then but knows now that he got friends for his life.

You know how it works. In the middle of the night Daniel is woken by a gentle slab from his wife that almost sends him out of bed: Are you awake?
- I am now! :frazzled:

- You can't sleep either? The baby keeps me awake with all that kicking.
- Yeah, okay, and what can I do about it?!? So he puts his arms around her.
