Is Sweden taking the same approach as Australia, where close contacts of positive cases are tested at day 1 and day 12?

If you've been in close contact with someone ill with Covid-19 you should work from home if possible, come in contact with as few people as possible and maintain a distance of at least 2 metres if you do. If you live with someone who's ill with Covid-19 you should isolate for 7 days even if you yourself have no symptoms. In any case if you get symptoms that don't disappear within 24h you should get tested. For people working in health care the employer test employees that have been exposed to the virus as soon as possible and then again after 7 days.

Sweden only has 7 days of quarantine? Wow! Australia has 14 days, where you must test on day 1 and day 12 of quarantine, even if you're asymptomatic. If you test positive on day 12, you must quarantine for a further 14 days AND return two negative test!

That sounds excessive.
In the Netherlands they reduced it from 14 to 10 days several months ago and they are now considering reducing it even further in certain cases (those that were in contact with someone who tested positive but don't show any symptoms after a certain period of time).

 Still 14 days here.
There is an incubation period where you don't show symptoms. While many show as early as 4-5 days, others it can take up to 11-12 days.
Good to hear that the Queen, King, Victoria and Daniel have all tested negative. I know it was the queen's brother's funeral, but I still wonder about the choice to send all but one of the senior royals (adult) to the funeral in a pandemic. I know all cautions were taken but still things happen. Thankfully only one couple is ill.

In the Netherlands the conclusion was that almost all people showed symptoms within 10 days. The number of those showing symptoms after more than 10 days was so small that they decided they would not require people to quarantine 4 more days (knowing that the longer the quarantine the unlikelier people are to comply). They are now discussing the option (or already agreed on it) to reduce the quarantine even further for people that were in contact to a known-case testing negative on day 5.

Margareta Thorgen spoke with Svensk Damtidning
Despite the fact that no other member of the royal family than Carl Philip and Sofia is ill or shows any symptoms, the court takes extra measures to be one hundred percent sure that the infection cannot be spread. They will keep the isolation for a while longer, even though the tests have been negative.
Thorgren said that the other members of the royal family are healthy and show no symptoms. But it is the royal physician who decides when they can break the isolation, they want it to take x number of days before you are completely on the safe side. They follow the restrictions and do as much as possible from home. So, the whole family stays at home and Estelle and Oscar don't go to their school and preschool.

Expressen:
To take it safe, the king chose at the beginning of the pandemic to issue a rule: He and the heir to the throne, Victoria, would avoid joint meetings to reduce the risk of them falling ill at the same time.
A rule that the King chose to renounce because of the royal family's love for Queen Silvia's brother. On November 20, the royal couple, the crown princess couple and the prince couple gathered in Drottningholm Palace Chapel for Walther Sommerlath's funeral. The rule was not followed, so that the family could say a final goodbye.
Margareta Thorgren says to Expressen that the rule still applies. But on several occasions, which also have been seen in the media, the king and Victoria have been at meetings together. Then with a long distance between them and that also applied during the funeral. For everyone in the family. And precautions were taken before and during the funeral, everyone who was present was tested, even though it was a very small ceremony. During the funeral, there was a big distance among everyone who attended.
Thorgren says also that the routines of the king and queen continue just as they have been throughout the corona period, no difference. The same routines before, during and after the funeral.

About TV4's annual program of the royal family "Kungahuset 2020"
Rania Shemoun Olsson has followed the royal family during this special year. Rania says that it's been a year of contrasts with constantly changing plans and new assignments. It is great to see how the royal family's community involvement shines through in everything they do and what enormous respect they have for the people they meet.
The year began just as usual. In January, Victoria visited Auschwitz to attend a memorial service for Holocaust victims. The king and queen visited the Jokkmokk market. When the pandemic struck, the royal family's work changed, they have focused on supporting and contributing to the efforts made to combat covid-19.
Rania accompanies the Crown Princess couple on their visit around Sweden in the wake of the pandemic. She visits Sofia at Sophiahemmet where Sofia helps out two days a week and joins a battleship trip with Carl Philip.
At a longer interview with the king and queen at Drottningholm Palace they tell about this special year, where they spent several months isolated at Stenhammar Castle. Rania says that it has been a huge change for the royal couple to go from a packed schedule to almost no events. Instead, there have been many digital meetings, a digital UN conference, a lot of TV watching and the king has offered fantastic cooking according to Queen Silvia.
Kungahuset 2020 will be broadcast on 25 December at 20.00 on TV4.

Happy New Year!
2020 has been a different year. The royal family has reorganized and largely carried out their assignments digitally.
Here you can watch a film with a few glimpses of the Royal Family's many digital appearances during the year.
