Count Carl Johan Bernadotte of Wisborg (1916-2012) & Family, News 1: June '08-Mar '17
Couldn't find another thread on the former Prince Carl Johan Arthur of Sweden, Duke of Dalarna. Therefor, I decided to open a new one.

BTW, according to Wikipedia he is the last surviving great-grandchild of Queen Victoria.

There are some nice pictures of the count and the countess also according to wikipedia he has two adopted children but no biological children though.

Countess Gunnila Bernadotte (92) at the Båstad Chamber Music Festival at the end of June. Countess Gunnila has been the patron of the Festival for many years.

Here is a nice interview of count Carl Johan and countess Gunnila from 2010.
They tell that they had known each other "always", they met for the first time in 1930 and Gunnila and Carl Johan's first wife Kerstin were good friends. Gunnila tells that Greta Garbo stayed at her family's home in Sörmland when she visited Sweden, but she stopped to come when the war started in 1939. Greta Garbo had met Gunnila's parents in Folke Bernadotte's wedding in 1928. In 1950's Greta Garbo came again to Sweden and met Carl Johan and Kerstin Bernadotte. In September 1988 Carl Johan and Gunnila got married in Copenhagen, and prince Bertil and princess Benedikte attended at the wedding.
They tell also that in the summer 2008 Victoria visited them with Daniel to present them to him. Count Carl Johan had started to get some balance problems and when they went down the hill, Daniel took him under his arm and helped him.

Very sad news indeed, though i guess it was expected as she has been absent from all family celebrations in recent years. Something she would never miss if her health would have permitted it.
She was a very elegant and lovely woman.
Rest in peace Countess Gunnila. I hope you are reunited with Carl Johan (and Carl Herman).

Majesty magazine's article popped up on my Facebook. I was surprised by the news. My condolences to the family on the loss of the lovely lady, and another loved member of the family. May she rest in peace reunited with her husband.
