The dates for the Spanish state visit to Jordan haven't been announced yet.
But the trip itself was announced several weeks ago.

Shakira, Karolina Win Humanitarian Awards
UNITED NATIONS -- Latin pop star Shakira and Czech supermodel Karolina Kurkova received awards Monday for their humanitarian work and then watched a fashion show featuring clothes partly made by women trying to escape poverty in developing countries.

More than 400 fans and fashionistas joined VIP guests for the two events and a panel on Poverty, Women and Human Rights. It focused on the success of microcredit loans, which hundreds of millions of women have used to start businesses, and the need to help the 1 billion people who still live on $1 a day or less.

...........There was disappointment in the crowd that several famous winners sent representatives to collect their awards -- including actress Angelina Jolie, Queen Rania of Jordan, Sen. The KA brough Prince Hussein with him to some official visit. I think KA want his son to familiar with the task the king need to do. And also train him to become a crown prince.

Correct me if I am wrong? Does anyone think it's kind of young to get an eleven year old child ready to be a crown prince. He is only eleven. I know he might be a crown prince one day or even a King. Allot to put on a young child. I even read once that the Queen said something about it being like child abuse to let her son know that he could be King one day. I know other royals do these sort of things with their children and I know they have to get uses to it. I just think that kids today have enough pressure as it is.... why add more......

Well i think if KA is thinking of praparing his Son to be the future King hes not going to train him when hes older is he?! Is better to prapare him now for his future role and i dont think theyre doing anything wrong with him, they are not excatly kill him with duties. Plus i know hes a kid but hes got a title of a Prince, not many kids have that im afraid

Whilst it is hard to introduce a child to such an enormous amount of pressure in many ways Hussein is lucky because if he is officially named Crown Prince he has the advantage over others.

He's been given the chance to grow up with as "normal" a life as possible. Individuals like Haakon, Willem-Alexander and Charles have known since they were children that they were future kings. They've had the pressure since Day 1.

King Receives RCP Fellowship Certificate</STRONG>

Amman, April, 6(Petra) -- His Majesty King Abdullah II received on Thursday President of the British Royal College of Physicians (RCP) Professor Carol Black and the RCP international director professor Roger Williams.

During the meeting, the King was awarded RCP's fellowship certificate in recognition of His Majesty's efforts in supporting the medical sector in Jordan.

The King expressed appreciation for RCP's president, stressing Jordan's keenness on developing ties with the College and benefiting from the British expertise in medical fields.

Professor Black hailed the advanced level of medical services in Jordan, noting to King Abdullah's special attention to children and youth sectors.

For his part, Professor Williams presented a briefing on the College. He also praised the King's efforts to establish peace and stability in the region.

Jordan to host Iraqi Islamic reconciliation summit</STRONG>

Jordan to host Iraqi Islamic reconciliation summit
Amman, April 5 (Petra) -- Under the patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II, a large number of senior Iraqi religious and tribal leaders- both Sunnis and Shi'is, Arab and Kurds- will gather in Amman on April 22,2006 from the Iraqi Islamic Reconciliation Summit. The meeting, organized in cooperation between Aal al- Bayt Institute for Islamic Thought and the Arab League, will provide a form for Iraqi leaders to take a crucial step towards stemming the violence in Iraq.
During the summit, King Abdullah will join the delegates in a call for an end to bloodshed and religious tension in Iraq. The summit is expected to culminate in a signed declaration stating that fighting between Shi'is and Sunnis has no legitimate religious basis.

The Iraqi Islamic Reconciliation Summit is necessary to help bring the violence in Iraq to an end, establish a stable and fully representative Iraqi government and permit a peaceful and orderly withdrawal of coalition troops. Peace in Iraq cannot be achieved without a political solution, and a political solution cannot, in return, be achieved without a religious solution because fighting in Iraq has generally occurred along religious sectarian lines, especially among Iraq's Arab Muslim communities.
The Iraqi Reconciliation Summit thus seeks to alleviate religious tensions by asserting fundamental principles that are shared by all Muslims. As such, it could constitute a critical step in defusing civil tension and helping to clear the way for a final and permanent political solution in Iraq.

King meets Ma'an dignitaries</STRONG>

Amman, Apr. 9 (Petra) His Majesty King Abdullah II Sunday said Ma'an governorate will see a number of developmental projects in the coming few years including the establishment of a land port and other projects will be approved provided that they are carried out in Ma'an to reduce the effect of poverty and unemployment in the area.
Addressing tribal leaders and notables from Ma'an at the Royal Court, King Abdullah said "I can see that poverty and unemployment form a big barrier to you and we have a strategy for Ma'an and numerous ideas about specific projects."The government is serious in improving your living conditions and we hope the people of Ma'an will feel the change clearly on the ground through development projects investors will be directed to launch in Ma'an," His Majesty said.
The King renewed his call to give due attention to the young generation and create the appropriate teaching environment for them with special focus on the quality of learning that meets the market demands.
During the meeting which was attended by Prime Minister Marouf al-Bakhit, Royal Court Chief Salem Turk and King Advisor for Tribal Affairs Sharif Fawaz Zaben Abdullah, the King said a government team will visit Ma'an soon to identify priorities of the governorate and discuss people's problems to find proper solutions for them.
Key speakers at the meeting affirmed allegiance to the Hashemite leadership and outlined major problems facing the governorate.

ICCI President Highlights King's Efforts in Achieving Investment</STRONG>

Amman, April 11(Petra)-- President of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) Sheikh Saleh Kamel hailed efforts being exerted by His Majesty King Abdullah II to achieve comprehensive economic development and increase Arab, Islamic and foreign investments in the Kingdom.

In an interview with Jordan News Agency, Kamel highly valued privileges of investments in Jordan.

He added that political stability, that Jordan enjoys, has an essential role in attracting investments.

Sheikh Kamel had earlier briefed His Majesty King Abdullah II on the ICCI's plan for the coming 10 years.

Kamel concluded on Tuesday a working visit to Jordan within his tour to Islamic countries to explain the Chamber's plan.

''His Majesty King Abdullah II, Saudi King Abdullah II Abdel Aziz and Prime Ministers of Malaysia, Pakistan and Turkey expressed support to the plan,'' said Kamel.

He also pointed to media role in achieving the Chamber's objectives, noting that the ICCI has decided to establish a grand media company with capital of $ 100 million.

The Islamic Chamber is an affiliated organ of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) and represents the private sector of 57 Member Islamic Countries. It aims at strengthening closer collaboration in the field of trade, commerce, information technology, insurance/reinsurance, shipping, banking, promotion of investment opportunities and joint ventures in the Member countries.

Its membership is comprised of the National Chambers/Unions/Federations of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the member countries.

King Patronizes Celebration on the Occasion of Prophet Muhammad's Birthday</STRONG>

Amman, April 11(Petra) -- His Majesty King Abdullah II patronized on Tuesday a ceremony on the occasion of Prophet Muhammad's Birthday.

The ceremony was held at Late King Hussein bin Talal Mosque, which was opened by King Abdullah II today.

The King joined worshippers in performing the noon prayers at the Mosque, which is the largest in the Kingdom.

The Mosque, located near Al Hussein Park, was established by a donation from His Majesty King II.

The ceremony was attended by representative of Omani Sultan Qaboos bin Saeed, who contributed to building the Mosque.

Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Abdel Fattah Salah delivered a speech in which he pointed to the importance of the occasion.

He also that Amman Message, which was launched by the King, aims at clarifying the true image of Islam, pointing to the Hashemite family's role in rebuilding mosques and renovating religious sits in the Kingdom.

At the end of the ceremony, which was attended by a number of Jordanian and Moslem figures, the King honored those who presented donations for building mosques in the Kingdom.
