Queen Rania publishes cartoon in response to Charlie Hebdo's

Amman, Jan. 15 (Petra) -- Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah on Friday evening published a cartoon she had developed on her official Twitter and Facebook accounts.

The cartoon was in response to French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo's latest depiction of Aylan Kurdi, a three year old Syrian refugee, whose body washed up on Turkish shores last September after a desperate attempt to reach Greece by boat.

Queen Rania meets with Jordanian women entrepreneurs
Amman, Jan 17 (Petra) –– Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah met Sunday with a group of twelve Jordanian female entrepreneurs at the King Hussein Business Park, and commended them on their achievements.

The entrepreneurs own small and medium-sized enterprises in a number of fields, including; information and communication technology, healthcare, clean technologies, creative industries and social media.

King, UN official discuss refugee issue

Amman, Jan. 18 (Petra)-- His Majesty King Abdullah II, on Monday, expressed Jordan's desire to boost cooperation with the UN refugee Agency to prompt the international community to play a bigger role towards Syrian refugee crisis, in light of the growing burden borne by the Kingdom due to hosting a large number of refugees.

King discusses with US delegation strategic ties between Jordan and US

Supreme Commander oversees naval military drill

Aqaba, Jan 23 (Petra) –– His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces- Arab Army, Saturday attended a joint naval military drill in Aqaba, carried out by personnel of the Royal Naval Force and Joint Special Operations forces, backed up by helicopter gunships.

King says youths have key role in addressing challenges

Amman, Jan. 31 (Petra) -- His Majesty King Abdullah II, on Sunday, said he is confident of the promise of Jordanian youths and of their ability to help address the various challenges Jordan is going through.

This came in a meeting at Al-Husseiniya Palace with representatives of the youth sector where her Majesty Queen Rania al-Abdullah was in attendance. During the meeting, His Majesty emphasized that Jordan's young men and women can play a key role in political, economic and social issues.

King commends Jordanian mountaineer's achievements

Amman, Jan 31 (Petra) –– His Majesty King Abdullah II Sunday received Jordanian mountaineer Mustafa Salameh and hailed his achievements in the sport, the latest of which was reaching the farthest point in the Antarctic. Salameh is one of 235 people in the world and the first Arab to scale the seven summits, the highest mountains on all seven continents, including the South and North Poles.

King departs for Germany to take part in Munich Security Conference

Amman, Feb. 11 (Petra)--His Majesty King Abdullah II on Thursday left for Germany to take part in the 52nd Munich Security Conference that kicks off on Friday with the participation of world leaders, defense ministers as well as international figures.

His Majesty will deliver a keynote address at the opening session that will focus on Jordan's stance on current issues, security challenges facing the Middle East, as well as ways of addressing these challenges.
