Highly exclusive (by invite only) fundraiser for the costume department of the Metropolitan opera. Not sure about Rania, but Charlotte likely got her invite through Karl Lagerfeld.

High exclusivity of the event in question disappeared after the Kardashians, the very personification of vulgarity and gaudiness, were invited. As said earlier, I never understood why Queen Rania liked/likes to attend celebrity events.

That about Kardashiasn is true, it couldn't be described better. Some reasons why she attends this event could be : a) QR is considered to be a fashion icon, b) one of the best dressed, c) I suppose that she has friendship with many famous designers, d) at last I think she uses these events to maintain her profile as an international celebrity, in the best sense of the word, which allow her to be one of the 100 influential persons.

Highly exclusive?
i don't think so considering the attendance, anyway Queen Rania is seen as an intellectual, outspoken and respected Queen attending sush event only do damage to her image Imo as bringing her son in that is even worst idea.

You can buy a ticket to the event, but your looking at over $10,000. Either Rania brought a ticket a she was invited.

i am also puzzled about rania's attendance to the met ball, although other royals did attend in the past.
rania also attended in 2007, that year the theme was "Poiret: King of Fashion".

Queen Rania visits German Jordanian University
Amman, May 8 (Petra)– Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah visited the German Jordanian University’s (GJU) Madaba Campus on Sunday to support the University’s cutting-edge teaching initiatives, especially its collaboration with Edraak, the first digital platform for educational content in the Arab world.
The partnership is the product of a memorandum of understanding signed between the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE), GJU, and the Queen Rania Foundation last year to develop an online national education course for GJU students that focuses on strengthening their understanding of national identity in an intercultural context.
During the visit, Her Majesty met with the Dean of the Computer Engineering and Information Technology School Professor Saleem Al Aqtash, and a number of students who completed Edraak’s online course, as well as lecturers who supervised the development of the course. They discussed the benefits of the course and its potential to improve the accessibility of special content to students at the University and in the Arab world.
