Munich, Feb. 12 (Petra) -- His Majesty King Abdullah II on Friday held a series of meetings with heads of delegations and officials taking part in Munich Security Conference, currently underway in Germany.

The King met, separately, with United Nations and Arab League Envoy to Syria Staffan de Mistura, President of Iraq Kurdistan Region Masoud Barzani and Israeli Defense Minsiter Moshe Ya'alon, where he discussed with them the latest developments in the Middle East and the world.

King continues meetings with top figures at Munich meeting

Munich, Feb. 12 (Petra) -- His Majesty King Abdullah II on Friday continued his meetings with heads of delegations and international officials taking part in Munich Security Conference, currently underway in Germany.

The King met, separately, with Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Canadian Defense Minister Harjit Singh Sajjan and EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini.

King meets with U.S. Secretary of State

Aqaba, Feb. 21 (Petra) -- His Majesty King Abdullah II, on Sunday, met with U.S. Secretary of State, John Kerry, for a discussion on a number of Middle East issues.

During the meeting, His Majesty emphasized the need for more international efforts to break the deadlock in peacemaking between the Palestinians and the Israelis and make headway towards the two-state solution.

The meeting also dealt with the latest developments regarding the war on terrorism and the crisis in Syria.

Dubai, Feb0 23 (Petra) -- Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah challenged an audience of international leaders to break inherited molds that have been imposed on women, and pursue innovation in improving their standing.

Her remarks came in a keynote speech at the opening of the Global Women’s Forum in Dubai on Tuesday, where she was also awarded the Mohammed Bin Rashid Medal of Honor for Women.

Amman, Feb 24 (Petra) -- Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah launched the Hashemite University’s nursery on Wednesday, and toured several other facilities on campus that reflect the university’s commitment to social progress and innovation.

The Queen recognized the university’s compliance with Article 72 of the Jordanian Labor Law, which requires organizations to establish daycare centers on their premises for children of their female employees. Through this provision, the law aims to increase opportunities and the economic participation of Jordanian women.

Washington, Feb. 24 (Petra) -- His Majesty King Abdullah II, on Wednesday, held a summit meeting with U.S. President, Barack Obama, that dealt with global efforts to fight terrorism and extremism in the Middle East and the world, the latest developments in Syria and efforts to revive peacemaking between the Palestinians and Israelis.

The meeting, attended by HRH Crown Prince Al-Hussein bin Abdullah, also discussed ways to cement the strategic relationship between Jordan and the United States.

Florida, Feb. 26 (Petra) -- His Majesty King Abdullah II on Thursday took part in a Business Council meeting, that brought together business leaders and executive of major companies in Florida, U.S.

The King also attended a dialogue session dubbed "Risk Management" on the sidelines of the Council's meeting, that tackled various global political and economic challenges and ways to address them.

King accepts credentials of newly appointed envoys

Amman, March 6 (Petra) -- His Majesty King Abdullah II on Sunday accepted credentials of a number of newly appointed ambassadors to Jordan, during a ceremony held at the Basman Palace.

At the ceremony, King Abdullah received the credentials of Austrian ambassador, Michael Desser, Nafsika Krousti of Cyprus, non-resident envoy of Denmark Svend Waever, Pan Weifang of China, Safiah Al-Saheel of Iraq, Singaporean non-resident ambassador Shamsher Zaman, non-resident ambassador of Peru Hugo Portugal and the non-resident ambassador of Belarus Aleksandr L. Ponomarev.

King, US vice president attend joint military drill

Amman, March 10 (Petra)--His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Force-Army, and US Vice-President Joe Biden attended on Thursday in the presence of the King's Advisor for Military Affairs and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mashal Mohammad Zaben, a joint tactical drill that was carried out by the Rapid Response Unit (Desert Eagle) with the participation of US and friendly forces.

Abu Dhabi, March 13 (Petra) -- His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the United Arab Emirates, on Sunday, held talks on ways to cement bilateral ties and the latest developments in the Middle East. The King and the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi emphasized the need to further enhance ties between the two countries to serve the interests of the two peoples. King condemns Ankara terror attack

Amman, March 14 (Petra) -- His Majesty King Abdullah II on Monday denounced the terrorist explosion that struck Kizilay square in central part of the Turkish capital, Ankara that occured late Sunday and resulted in the death and injury of innocent people . In a cable to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the King expressed his sympathies and condolences over the loss of innocent lives and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

King leaves for Brussels on working visit

Amman, March 16 (Petra)--His Majesty King Abdullah II on Wednesday, left on a working visit to the Belgian capital Brussels during which he will meet with senior European officials.

During the visit, the King will hold talks with senior officials at the Council of Europe, the European Commission and NATO that will deal with partnership and cooperation as well as the latest regional and international developments.

King says Jordan keen on expanding ties with EU

Brussels, March 16 (Petra) -- His Majesty King Abdullah II, on Wednesday, said Jordan is keen on expanding its relations with the European Union and member countries. During a meeting with the EU High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini, His Majesty thanked the bloc for the assistance it extends to Jordan.
