World Leaders Embrace New Media..............

The Prime Minister's latest outreach initiative comes a few weeks after another world leader, Queen Rania of Jordan, who was also a guest of honor at the recent Google event, launched her own YouTube channel at YouTube - QueenRania's Channel last April.
Queen Rania's YouTube endeavor is a conscious effort to promote dialogue and understanding between the Arab and Muslim world and the West.......
"Arabs and Muslims struggle daily with how the world sees us: our reality, history, and way of thinking. We must break down these stereotypes and speak up for ourselves so that everyone understands who we are, and what we value," explains Queen Rania in an exclusive statement via email to Asharq Al Awsat.

An article about the visit:

Hashemi Shamali youth share ideas with Queen Rania

AMMAN (JT) - Her Majesty Queen Rania on Tuesday joined a group of young people from the east Amman suburb of Hashemi Shamali in a discussion session designed to come up with ideas to present during a youth summit to be held in the US this summer.

The group is participating in the Youth International Summit entitled, “Exploring a World of Possibilities” to be held in Boston in August.

During the meeting at the Queen Zein Al Sharaf Institute for Development (ZENID), group members exchanged ideas with Queen Rania on how to correct misconceptions about Arab and Muslim women. Jordan Times

also from the above article:

". . . the Queen, accompanied by HRH Prince Hashem, inaugurated Prince Hashem Park in Hashemi Shamali.
The Queen, who was received by Amman Mayor Omar Maani, met with several student volunteers, who were painting on the walls.

. . . Last year, Queen Rania laid the cornerstone for the 10-dunum children’s recreational park as part of GAM’s celebrations of His Majesty King Abdullah’s birthday."

Princess Iman reminds me of Princess Haya in those pics from Laha.. :)

You're welcome, Salma.

Queen Rania's Western Ideal

Jordan's Queen Rania Al-Abdullah teaches tolerance and understanding between the Muslim world and the West. But to what extent is her own nation practicing what she preaches? Renowned scholar Geneive Abdo argues that Queen Rania should turn her focus inward to work toward solving Jordan's own inequalities that lie just under the surface...

Did anyone notice that QR's meeting for FINCA and the Jordan Education Initiative were in the same exact room? I think there have been meetings there in the past. Is this at her offices?

Kind of off topic...but has anyone noticed the KA always wears his wedding ring, but QR doesn't? Not saying anything...just wanted to know if it was a cultural thing or think she just simply forgot?
