M&M both put on their gloves during the Mexican anthem.

But in all fairness the Mexican First Lady didn't stand still and look straight ahead, so perhaps all three had a collective blonde moment.

Thanks, Iceflower.

In case you are wondering. The less than fully dressed woman is a Swedish activist from Femen, who protested against human rights in Mexico.

She was, as you can see, arrested on the spot and fined for public indecency. A man, who apparently worked with her, was also arrested.

Frederik and Mary and the Presidential couple is already up and attending new events:

Crown Princess Mary must be a little proud when she during these hours presents her successful anti-bullying program 'Free For Bullying' for the First Lady. Together they're visiting the kindergarten Ådelen which have Mary's 'Free For Bullying' integrated (which over 50% of all Denmark's kindergartens have)

At the same time, Crown Prince Frederik and the President takes care of the more 'dry' business events. These hours they participates in a business conference with the Confederation of Danish Industry:

Later today the Crown Prince Couple and the Presidential Couple will visit Tjørnegaardskolen in Gentofte. (Close to Christian's and Isabella's school)

Of course such state visits are not just for fun.

The serious paper Jyllands Posten that very much cover business has an article about what has come out from this visit: Overblik: Danmark og Mexico indgår en stribe aftaler - Politik

The Danish export to Mexico has gone up noticeably within the past few years. Mexico is a growing market and economy with a growing middle class and as such a very attractive market for Danish businesses.

The agreements that are coming out from this visit is very much with the medical industry, not least in regards to diabetes. DK is by far the largest producer of insulin.
But also within other sectors of medication agreements have been made.

Energy is another area where the export to Mexico will go up.

Also in regards to kindergartens Danish know how is being exported, (that is also why the Free From Bullying concept that we nicked and developed from Australia and which is now a major export success, is of interest during this visit. Thank you Australia. ) and in that context LEGO is making a huge donations of bricks to Mexican kindergartens. - Aaand should the dear little ones as a result of that start to plague... I mean wish for more Lego from their parents, we won't mind at all... - We are basically a nation of used-horse-salesmen.

Pictures from Mary Fonden's Facebook from Mary's and the First Lady's visit in the kindergarten:

It was a warm welcome to Crown Princess Mary and the Mexican First Lady in kindergarten Ådalen in Kokkedal this morning. The visit was arranged to give the Mexican First Lady an insight into how we in Denmark preventing bullying by working with 'Free For Bullying'. The children sang their friend-song, massaged each other and talked about what it means to be a good friend, and along the way Crown Princess Mary translated it all to the First Lady and explained the idea behind the Mary Foundation's and Save the Children's common anti-bullying program.

The last item on the agenda, before the return-dinner tonight was a visit to a school in Copenhagen, where Lego is implemented in the teaching.

M&F accompanied the Mexican First Couple, who were demonstrated how the children use and build with Lego to better visualize and for a better understanding of what they are being taught or projects they are working on.

As mentioned in a previous thread Lego is donating a load of bricks to Mexican kindergartens - and it would be nice if Mexico would buy a few billion Lego bricks as a result of implementing them in schools as well.

It looks like it is the ribbon for the order. This is the ribbon for the class that Fred and his father's order belong to

that's interesting, i wonder what proper etiquette is with the gloves during state visits. surely they take them off to shake hands, and then put them back on?

i wonder who the two ladies at the back of this picture are: maybe attendants to the first lady?

i also noticed angelica ribera is wearing what looks to be a small denmark flag on her coat...

Well, I'll leave glove-etiquette to someone else.

But the first pic has a number of details worth mentioning.
The lady in black is I believe an interpreter.
The lady in the fair coat is I'm sure a minister or government representative. How to run kindergartens here in DK has become a serious export in recent years, not least to Asia, and now also Mexico.
But notice the man in the lower left corner. That's a Thor's hammer he has around his neck. It could be for decoration but he might also belong to the Asa-faith. I.e. the faith here in DK before Christianity. That faith is now officially recognized, which means they are allowed to perform marriages and burials.

As for the second picture. That is indeed the ribbon to the Grand Commander of the Order of Dannebrog.

8 degrees C on an April evening? That's nothing. Some years we have snow knee-deep in April.
