If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
The queen and prince Henrik with the presidential couple, who signed window panes before their departure from Fredensborg Palace today. More than 140 years the heads of state and guests of princely rank have written their names in a window pane which is put in one of the castle windows at the conclusion of the visit.

I just noticed that when Marie arrived she had the medal of the queen's portrait (sorry if i am calling it incorrectly) she had it on the right hand side

but at dinner she had it on the left hand side.

I guess she forgot which side was correct :whistling::D
Im surprise Joachim didnt catch the mistake :whistling::D

Dear Polyesco, you are mistaken. ;)

It is, as you know, a wellknown fact that Joachim is the perfect gentleman and as such he would never correct his wife. That's....that's simply unthinkable. He would on the contrary rather have suggested to his precious Marie that the medal would complete her looks so much more when worn on the other shoulder. :)

I think you are right, Roskilde. It's unusual for J&M and M&F to walk past the photographers. Presumably they came directly from Amalienborg? Or J&M were visiting M&F in Kancellihuset?

Have Mary and Frederik moved to Kancellihuset? :flowers:

Love to see a new dress on Mary. It looks very feminine!

I'd say so. I remember having read something about the house being readied for M&F a few weeks ago. It caused some attention because this is the first year since they moved in at Amalienborg that M&F is also using the "summer cottage".

Yeah, perhaps. However she wasn't without official/royal representation.

You can tell because his adjutants cord is over over his right shoulder. I.e. adjutant for the head of state or a royal. The Finnish adjutant is walking to the right of the First Lady in this picture. - Also with his adjutants cord over his right shoulder, because he is adjutant for the head of state.
Unless I'm mistaken the medal the Danish adjutant is wearing is Finnish?

Poor man. He looks shocked. - Perhaps she tried to suck his blood?

A BT gallery of Frederik touring Copenhagen Harbour with the Minister for Environment, Ida Auken. - Frederik has worked with Ida Auken a good deal through his interest in the environment.

Interresting :) But somehow, I don't think they have moved yet. I'm pretty sure that we then had heard about it. I think BB wrote they would move on April 16th. But of course, it dosen't necessarily mean that it is the truth :p

I really wish the First Lady wore some clothing by that Finnish icon, MARIMEKKO...but I got nothing :(

Good heavens Muhler! Surely Mme Helle is not a vampire! Perhaps the Finnish president is thinking of his own prime minister and wondering if he could persuade la belle Danoise to convert to Finnishness! In any case, I am wondering about the language used by both couples. Finnish looks nothing like Danish so that I am desperate to know whether they used English or is there a Scandinavian common language linking all Nordic countries!:flowers:

Mrs Haukio has a lot of Marimekko clothes, but not on this visit. The dress on Friday evening was from the finnish designhouse Ivana Helsinki, designed by Paola Suhonen.

Mrs Haukio wore yesterday the brooch queen Margrethe gave her, it is "Moonlight Grapes" from Georg Jensen.

Most reasonably educated Finns speak exellent Swedish, so the language barrier between the two wouldn't have been such a big thing. The PM is born and bred in Copenhagen and most Copenhageners understand Swedish very well. - It would have been another thing if the Finns were visiting over here in Jutland, then I'm afraid English would have been necessary.
In fact it would more likely have been a problem for the Finns to Understand Danish.
However when the Finns were out and about I suspect English was used quite a lot. And I'm certain the First Lady and Mary spoke English between themselves.

So the Finns would like to have our Prime Minister? They can have her! :D Tomorrow? Even better today. In fact they can have the entire government, for free. :prettyplease:- No return guarantee though.

Mrs Jenni Haukio told to the finnish press, that it was easy to talk with their hosts. The danish royals are interested in culture and they have similar kinds of interests than president Niinistö and his wife: literature and visual arts.
Mrs Haukio said she was very pleased to see both finnish and danish culture during her visit and that she is definetely telling to everyone, that they should visit Denmark. Denmark has a great cultural tradition.
The president and his wife left straight from Denmark to China to an official visit, the president is the first western head of state who meets China's new president. The president told to the press about how they are going to celebrate his wife's birthday on Sunday. He said that Hainan is a warm place, he is going to take his wife to a walk on the beach and to the best icecream bar.

ahah. you made me smile, Muhler :flowers:

Well, I'm completely taken by the finnish first lady. Such a beautiful, elegant and regal woman. :) Sad that Mary or Marie weren't with her on the second day's meetings. I'd love to have more pictures of them.

All amusing quips aside, did the delectable Marie commit a very public faux pas when she used the Queen's Order on the right as a "functional" pin to keep the front of her gown and order sash aligned instead of using a pretty pin to do the job?

It's just that she looked so very happy when she arrived and not so very at all at dinner with the pin moved.

She was sitting next to the PM on her right. - That can sap the will to live out of anyone...
