This was a really great project. It really did bring awareness to Hans Christian Anderson and literacy. It even reached the US. Good job DRF.

Thank you everyone for posting all the wonderful photos. Mary looked stunning. I love the top she is wearing. Such a good colour on her. Does anyone know who it is by? While I'm not a fan of snake prints (or whatever it is that is on Laurentien's shirt and scarf) I think she looked lovely.

Mary's outfit is real chic! She has the coolest collection of heels!!! Can you imagine being her best friend or sister? she'll lend it to you anytime you want! ^___^

HCA ambassadors

i know it may be a quite offtopic thread, but if the moderators think it's not appropiate feel free to move/delete it.

i just wanted to ask what does a hans christian andersen ambassador do as danish royals seem to be really involved with the cause. not only danish royals are ambassadors but many royals from other houses and celebrities from around the world.

what does a hca need to do? what are the requisites all the ambassadors have? i ask this because i have seen so many people from different backgrouds (artists, writers, singers, actors, politicians, sportsmen/women, celebrities in general...) that i really can't figure out what are the profiles they choose to award somebody with the title.

are there any important things about the mention? some time ago we saw that mary was named hca ambassador when she was in visit to australia... does that mean the ambassadors need to be named in their own countries? do they opperate just in their countries or whereever?

last question: does anyone know if it may be found online the updates list of the hca ambassadors?

thanks in advance!

Q: What is the task of the Hans Christian Andersen Ambassadors?
A: Hans Christian Andersen Ambassadors are celebrated public figures who have agreed to engage in the promotion of the wider awareness and appreciation of Hans Christian Andersen in the bicentennial year. They are also to lend their support to the HCA-abc Foundation. The goodwill ambassadorship is purely voluntary.

I hope this help some.
Also, the Web site is a good source of information on HCA.

thanks rere!
that solved practically all my doubts.

I live in Guadalajara Mexico, and right now an event called FIL (Feria Internacional del Libro) is taking place in the city, it is supposed to be the second largest book fair in the world, and many of the events are being held around the bicentennial of Hans Christian Andersen. It's great to see how this wonderful writer brings together so many different cultures to celebrate his work.:) :)

Where was Princess Marie ?

She married into the family 3 years after this event. As DoM said, Joachim hadn't divorced his ex wife yet.

I realize now it were pictures of 2005 The then daughters in law were Mary and Alexandra. Sorry
