I find this odd, but neat at the same time.
I have to disagree on this one. I didn't know about the birthdays, but appart from being both raven haired, the danish princesses are far from being lookalikes:
- Marie has quite a big and long nose, long face, long and a bit square jaw/chin. Mary's got snub nose, and thin jaw.
- They don't have the same coloring at all: Mary is not as fair-skinned as her husband maybe, but she is of scottish descent, and is a way fairer than the very latin french Marie who has quite a dark complexion.
- They don't have the same body types: Marie is a petite woman, with a delicate frame, whose arms and legs are not very muscular; while Mary is really taller, with a very toned body.
- Add to that their very different facial expressions, gestures, and postures.

In general they do look alike. This was commented on during Joachim and Marie's courtship

I see a resemblance between little Prince Henrik & Queen Ingrid as a little girl

The likenesses that I see;

Prince Pavlos and Queen Ingrid.
Little Henrik and Prince Philippos
Queen Margrethe and her nieces Theodora, Nathalie and Alexandra
Prince Frederik and Alexia.
Christian and Mary, with Frederik's colouring
Isabella and King Frederik IX and her father.
Vincent and Queen Margrethe and Mary's mother Henrietta.
Josephine and Mary, her own father and Prince Henrik.

I always thought that Prince Christian has a passing resemblance to Prince Felix. They don't really look too much alike, but they have similar coloring. It's not the most obvious, I've just always thought that they look the most alike of the cousins.

The family at Margrethe's birthday

Isabella is still looking like CP Frederick. Josephine is like her grandmother as a child. I don't have a clue about little Vincent (though I do see a bit of Henrik in him and Isa) and Christian still looks like a cross between Mary and Margrethe.

Nikolai looks like his mother Countess Alexandra and Felix looks alot like his mother with a little Frederick thrown in plus some of Queen Ingrid as a child. The new little princess has some of Henrik IMO.

Agree with everything apart from Prince Felix; I think he looks a lot like Prince Joachim.

I still think the little princess resembles her greatgrandmother (am I right that there's a very own lovely word for one in Danish called 'oldemor'?). I couldn't find a baby pic of Queen Ingrid but here...

Yes, greatgrandmother = oldemor = oldest mother.
Greatgrandfather = oldefar = oldest father.

A child of an oldemor and oldefar is called oldebarn.

A great-greatgrandmother/father = tip-oldemor, then tip,tip-oldemor and so on.

It works exactly the same in Armenian, how funny.
Catharina, the little Princess and her oldemor definitely have a lot in common.
By all indications, the little one is going to become quite a stunning woman as she grows - which is hardly surprising with such a handsome father and pretty mother.

Here's Mary with her mother as a baby and then with her mother and her 3 older siblings. Though I disagree, I think Josephine looks like Queen Margrethe as a baby with a little bit of Mary. Christian looks like Mary and Vincent looks like Prince Henrik. JMO.
